The Viking helmets look so much better in black. What did you use the paint them?

These are some great figures. I like how you, for the most part, use only official non-modified pieces, but still present very convincing figures. Now you just need a large village/diorama to be populated by these guys...

Very nice! I'm going to have to get me some of those pearl grey horns. They look great on the black helmets.

I saw both pairs of vikings before, but I still like them, especially with the silver horns. The outlaws look great, the Durmstrang Elks look great as a new sort of evolution of the Forest-men/dwellers (though I understand they're different).

I think that these are just the basic colors of the Viking helmets, and the speckle-ish finish is applied later. If you look inside the holes of a speckled Viking helmet, you'll notice that the inside of those holes is still black or tan.

Thank you all for your replies, I'm glad you still like my characters! :D

Well, seems I'm back on track again.
The next characters are some guys you don't wanna meet in a dark alley;
these scary skeleton creatures are the result of some playing-around with black minifig accesories.

Awesome work, I'm glad your making more of your characters again.
I've actually used the Durmstrung torso for a Forestman type figure, and it looks great. (I love it when torsos from another theme work good with castle. :) )

Thoses skellies are cool too. I like your use of that Black & White cape as well as the black suit of samurai armor- nice work!

Tan helmets are gold with the gold scratched/rubbed off,

Black are the same except with the silver scratched off. I've done it with a couple of mine.

See this thread.

So they're not expecially rare. Either way, nice figs.

EDIT: Just saw the new ones. The only thing I would change is using a 1 x 1 black upwards clip as the first one's legs- that's what I do for Dwarf skeletons. Looks great!

Great new figs. But they look like they need some weapons (black halberd, black sword, etc.)

Fantastic as always, Martin! The color-coordination on each group really makes them stand out.

I really have to start investing in some more unusual parts (I've used my black beard so many times!).

(And blogged, of course. :))
