A few figs made on a saturday...

Postby JoshWedin » Sat Mar 25, 2006 6:11 pm

Hey All,

Marakoeschtra has got me building figs now. Mine aren't as refined, but they are mine and I like them. :)

Here are three that were rescued from the sorting bin today:

Nilrem goes to war:

I do really like the warwizard in green with matching horsey gear. The monkeys are awesome too, I would've never thought about that. :)

Those monkeys are great Josh, and I like the green wizard.

Nice work :)

Hehe , monkey shields. The droopy horns give a good effect, and I'll assume you painted the beard. (?)

Hehe, the monkeys were a good laugh. I like the peddler the most. For some reason that green flask on the saddle just seals the deal for me.

I love them all, but Nilrem takes the cake. Good humor with a great fig!

What do you subordinate?
A black beard is painted? I don't think Josh is treating his bricks!

The green helmet isn't painted also. By the way: congrats to the deal Josh, and nice Minifigs.

You and Marakoeschtra gave me some inspiration, I think I have to upload some pictures tomorrow...

Thanks for all the compliments! I had no idea the monkeys would get so many comments, I would have used them sooner. :)

As Jens already pointed out, the beard is not painted. It is one of those odd pieces that have been popping up on Bricklink. It isn't in any set (like the helmet).

Take care,
Josh

Maybe I'll have to start updating my figs folder...

Hey Jens,

I just got a chance to look at your dragonslayer. I had totally forgotten about him. I must have remembered him subconsiously though, since my viking is so similar, even the down turned horns. Ironically, I almost used the same face, but changed it at the last minute. Weird.

I was wondering, Jens, why you, as a self-proclaimed purist, had used an apparently customised peice...

Josh has no such reservations, as his CCCIII entry shows.

Anyway, great figs! Those monkeys were the first thing I did when I got Rascus too.

Nice figs, I don't know which is my favorite, 'cause they're all so great! Nilrem needs more monkeys. :) Do I spy Draco's head in Ragnar? And why, may I ask, is Jack nasty?

Actually, I do have reservations. :) Any pieces that I customize, I replace with pieces from bricklink. You never know, I might need them someday! In fact, almost all the pieces from my CCC3 entry were bought on bricklink just for customizing. (Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them :) )

Nilrem can have more monkeys (I think I have 3 more) but I only have one more of those shields. You are very observant, that is Draco's head. :)

Jack isn't really nasty, that is just how he refers to himself. The actual story behind his name is a little inside joke. There is an antique shop in a town (LaConner, WA) near here that is named "Nasty Jack's". I have always enjoyed browsing through their store, so my peddler is a small nod to them.

Thanks!
Josh
