Hey there,

It is kind of hard to vote if the folder isn't public. But I will if you really want me to. :)

It will go public after a moderator at Brickshelf looks at and makes sure that it meets their terms of service. Should happen some time today.

Okay, I'm not going to vote. Not enough options, its doesn't stink or rock...very few MOCs do either. Here is my opinion:

It's not bad, good first try. But I think the wall looks too busy. I think I counted eight different colors in there. Its nice and big on the inside but totally empty. You need something in there. Outside the gate looks more alive with the plants and trees, that's good. Work on a more unified looking wall and put something inside and it will mush better.

Me thinks it am good, Oh Pharaoh! (Correction, you are an Egyptian god, not a Pharaoh!) I voted "It rocks!" so I think it's pretty nice. As to what Josh said, maybe if you eliminated either the blue or the tan and kept either it might look a tad better, but it's really pretty sweet now. And so what if real castles had one-colored walls? Due to lack of pieces all my castles are unfortunatley tri-colored (red, blue, and black, along with the occasional grey). And maybe the wall should be attached to a bigger castle (or it could be the forecastle), but all in all I like it!

For your first try, it's good. I like the bridge going over the river, and the curved railings on both ends of the bridge. I also like how the walls are symmetrical. The general idea looks nice. Your main problem seems to be that there's too much detail. As others have said, there are lots of contrasting colours and too many different pieces on your walls. If you want help with making a more traditional wall, then this page contains plenty of info on how to do a good wall.

Off-topic: Histo-Sci, can you -please- stop writing this? I don't consider anyone to be 'my lord', and so I (and many others) don't like you proclaiming this sort of stuff as if you know it for a fact, especially on what is supposed to be a religion-neutral board. So please, have the good sense to remove it. If you must announce your faith, then a simple 'God Bless' would be enough (ala Norro).

Good try Anubis, but it leaves much to be desired. It looks like a Gate rather than a castle, also the inside is empty, which can be improved. Try adding a blacksmith shop, a stockade or a stable to lighten it up. Also include minifigs in your MOCs to make it become alive. And as others mentioned, try to use less colors. 2 colors is best in my opinion, but 3 would work fine also. Use what you have mostly. Anyways, keep building and you'll get better.

Oh and btw, eventhough Histo-sci's signature bugs me, I was afraid to start an arguement over it, but thanks to wizard and Kohran, someone talked for me. Many debates took place and many topics were locked because of this kind of stuff. So let's carry this arguement over to PMs and prevent Anubis's topic from being locked. More replies he gets, more he'll improve.
