How do you make orcs?

Post by The_Fright_Knight »

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew how to make lego orcs. Right now I am using (dare I say it) Megabloks warfang figures, but if anyone has better ideas, could you please tell me?

The Gringott's goblins and troll, Star Wars Darth Maul head, and Jabba's Palace guards (those pig thingies whose name escapes me at the end of a long day) are all popular choices for making orcs.

I'm sure there are others as well. :)

Here's an impressive "vignette": http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eur ... topic=4260
(Would someone care to teach me how to make links?)

EDIT: Thank you for the link information, footsteps!

For any of the neat tricks that you see people posting on their messages, just find a message with the trick, click on the Reply button, then look at all the stuff that went into creating the trick.

Early on, I would copy all the text into Notepad, just so I could take some time to look it over without wordwrap on. That allowed me to figure out how to do my own stuff.

Click Reply for this message and you'll see how I made your link "clickable" like this:
http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eur ... topic=4260

or like this.

or turn a picture into a link:

(borrowed from a different thread).

There are many possibilities out there. Just hunt around. Hope this helps.

Definately Harry Potter goblin heads, Yoda heads, Bib Fortuna heads, Dobby heads, Gammorean guards, Dementor heads, mummy heads, any of the Lego Studios monster heads, and skin toned heads :P
And maybe even Chewbacca heads. (I've seen them used)

I can't believe no one linked you to Joey Finnel's amazing Demon Mawcollection :D

I used the gammoreans at first, but now my orcs look like this (sorry for the low picture light.. I was having camera issues that day :D)

and I know you said Lego, not Custom Lego, but still - better than using megablocks I say!

Depends on what type of orc. For PJ orcs, I take pretty much any wierd head like Darth Maul, Tusken, Goblin, etc. For more common ones, I use franken and gamorreans.

Since Im not completely a Lego-only builder, I do use Megabloks Vorgans.

I hev to swear now...Megablocks...*pant pant* do have interesting stuff, but STINKY, FLIMSY PLASTIC! There, I said it! I go now to weep in a corner...

Anyhoo, about the orcs. Another good face would be painted Indian faces from the Wild West line. The orange hand found here...http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=2846-1

design is good for Uruk-Hai. I made a few myself, but yiu'll have to use yellow habd and arms if u dont want mismatch.

I think Red Bean made them. See this topic. The link in that topic is broken, but I think that if you search around MCN, you'll eventually find them. Or, you could just PM LEGOFREAK, and find out directly. As to the original point of the topic, I don't make orcs, nor do I know how .

Were you talking to me? If so, let me rephrase that. I don't actually want to make orcs, nor do I know how, nor do I, nor can I (due to piece limitations and qualms about customizing [in other words, I don't have the pieces to make purist versions, and I won't make customs]).
