Hey all,

Marakoeschtra and Jens have recently shared their various great castle minifig creations. Another great fig builder is Michael Jasper. He's recently posted a really creative version of [url=http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1712662]Queen Elizabeth the First:

Check out this and all of his great figs in his Brickshelf gallery.

This is in my queue to blog.

I love QEI's dress and the footman's legs. Can anyone tell me what pieces Michael used to make the stuff around her neck? I can't quite figure it out...

I like the creativity in these figs quite a lot.

There is a rubberband, a clikit, and one of these. It took me a few seconds to figure it out.

Wow, great eye, smcginnis! I would have never made that connection. I've got one of those, but it's in the "rarely used minifig accessories" box. I wouldn't have reallized you could stick the neck through the eye-hole, but I just tried it and it works (the head doesn't go quite all the way down though). Very clever part usage.

Actually, Bricklink lists a white one as having sold last February. Maybe it's another of those weird nonset parts that have been showing up a lot recently.

When I discovered Michael Jasper's work on BS, his folder instantly became one of my favourites, and it still is !
It's amazing how he uses all kinds of parts in very creative ways, just like with these characters.
Very inspiring !

He have a great collection there! Check out his Michael Jackson, really funny. The queen is a masterpiece-fig, that's a great design. The whole folder is worth the time spent upon it.

Yeah he's made some grat figs. These figs are new to me, and just as good as the rest. I've been finding alot of new uses for those cruved pieces he used for the dress lately, this is another very creative one.

Thanks for posting this.

An excellent selection he has there. I was very impressed with the animals accomanying St. Francis of Assissi. Some of the best MOC animals I've seen.

Wow...this person is a fig master extraordinaire! What I really like is the various leg solutions they have made. Very impressive, to say the least...

My theory is that it's a shifty bricks copy. I know they realised a copy of a real set in a bunch of wrong colours. Alone, one could confuse the visor as Lego.

And it is a cool fig.

I get the feeling Michael Jasper is NOT the type to use clones. Just look at his work. It screams purist at me. Lots of the cool minifigs he's made could have done easier wish nasty cutting, carving, burning, etc, but he was able to find a purist solution.
