Brilliant bit of work. While I'll agree with others in that it doesn't seem particularly medieval, that in no way diminishes it as a great MOC. I think this is honestly the best log cabin style MOC I've ever seen. The new interlocking walls are supurb.
I don't think you're the first to try using those log pieces sideways(I've seen it before on a MOC somewhere on Brickshelf) but you've certainly implemented it better than I've ever seen before. I can't wait to see these techniques put to use in a whole landscaped MOC.
