In celebration of 700 posts here at Classic Castle, I built my first MOC since January! There's nothing particularly special about it; it's just a simple diorama of a hunter walking through the forest. Enjoy!

On another note, this is the first MOC I've shot with my new camera; I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. :)

Comments and constructive criticisms welcome and wanted!

Mmm.... Love that foresty goodness! You captured the feel of a forest very well, and the fallen tree over the river is a nice touch.

I love it! Excellent job with the landscaping and the flora/fauna. There is just enough going on to keep the eyes wandering around the MOC and keep it interesting with out crowding it too much. I like the use of the hinge bricks as stubs of branches on the fallen tree (much like whats used in 6552 Rocky River Retreat).

Very nice work, keep it up.

This is really nice. The trees are well done, and the use of the stump along with some bricks in a trunk shape is very good. Is the hunter hunting rats? Or is that something else...

Very nice, sir! Excellent little forest MOC. I, also, really like the use of the hinge bricks on the "bridge" tree. Lots of good detail crammed into a small area, very nice.

I was wondering the same thing. ;)

This is a very realistic looking scene. You have to love that Qui-gon head also. He makes the perfect woodsman.

This is a great MOC. It feels very real and the tree falling over the stream only adds to the realness.

Thanks for the replies! :D

I have to say I'm slightly amused at your reactions to my using the 1x1x2 hinge brick as a tree branch; I didn't know that was uncommon at all. Wunztwice; I have that set, so it's very likely that those parts actually came from there, and that's probably also where I learned that technique.

When I built the MOC, I wasn't intending to have the hunter hunt anything in specific. I guess he could be hunting rats though. :P

Very niice, the door hinges leap out at me as well! (though I didn't know they were used that way by lego). The frog is also a nice touch. All round very well done! Thanks for sharing and God Bless you,

Nathan

I really like this MOC, it really makes me think of a forest. I live up here in Canada, the Great White North, and I regularly walk around in woods and this seems very realistic.
The hunter is also very cool, the hair and head fit perfectly. I also like the animals.
He actually could be exterminating rats for the Elves, who have a swarm of them living in their wood!!!

Thanks Bruce.

Nathan, thanks. There's actually 2 frogs. :)

RCK: Thanks. Are you referring to LOTR Elves or just generic elves?

I tseems to me the hunter has a prob. Once he shoots the poor, helpless animal he's gotta almost kill himself walkin across a bridge tryin to get it :D Decisions decisions.

Good MOC, though! 8)

I really like the way you've captured the forestry look! It has a realality to it that really makes a MOC look good :D . The tree fallen over the river is a really nice touch(as has been said before.)
Keep it up,
