parts sets, a follow up

Post by brody »

Your idea of sets for parts is a good one for the mocs section.
In re: the above idea from a current thread in the "Castle Sets" forum, what are some of the sets that TLC is currently producing, specifically non-KK, that you have purchased or plan to purchase for Castle construction/enhancement?

Here are some of the sets I've recently purchased for Castle:

6210 Jabba's Sail Barge
great source of reddish brown, hoardings here I come

10144 Sandcrawler
great source of reddish brown parts ,short reddish brown legs, hoods etc...

4766 Graveyard Duel
source of minifig paraphenilia and small animal figures, chains

4886 Building Bonanza
source for white bricks (tudor material) and red roofing bricks

4894 Mythical Creatures
(obvious castle applications)

Number of KK2 sets I've bought: 0 (definately NOT a "new age revolutionist," I'm afraid)

Please add your thoughts to the list!

Best,
Brody

I find a lot of the Harry Potter sets are good moc fodder.

Durmstrang Ship: 2 x black doors Red windows with copper lattice lots of tan bricks. Also extra sheilds

Small sets like Troll on the Loose for: doors, windows, a troll  or Dracos Encounter with Buckbeak for plant matter.

I bought about 10 of the last one on deap clearance price and significantly increased my plant and brown arch collection :)

The new Batman Arkham Asylum set has many lattice and twisted bar windows, rocky slopes and other castle parts.
The scarecrow fig would be great for castle as well.

The Avatar fire nation ship is a great source for bley parts:

The Avatar air temple also looks like it has some cool parts:

And lastly, the new Viking army builder set, with 7 figs:
