My newest moc is the Crusader Keep of El Katar:

The keep is going to be the main part of a castle I am currently working on.
See here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=164459

I'll eventually build a ship and park it up alongside the dock once I get the castle finished.

Until then, back to building...

From what I can see, it looks really good! I love the interiors, and I like the overall shape. One question - How is the top part rain and sun proof? It looks like an open air top. I'm a little confused.

This looks really great from the two pics I can see so far(gallery not public yet)! I really like the whole idea, and I would like to see some more pics... A lot of people seem to be building for crusaders recently(thoughtful look).

I also really like the look of the whole castle WIP. Can't wait till it's finished!

Hmmm I wonder who...
I think Crusaders are cooler then BF, and I think some other people here do too. I love BF, don't get me wrong, but I only have 4. I have 7 or 8 Crusaders, so I build with them more

As always, excellent. As always. I am always impressed by your gallery, and your creations, and this one is no exception! I can't wait for the gallery to be public.

BTW, I was looking at the WIP pics before you posted thinking, "Jacob C. is at it AGAIN!"

P.S.So far we only have the one picture to go off of because the folder's not public yet, any hope of deeplinks?

Yep, it is an open air top.

I got the idea after looking at a model of the Coucy Keep:

Coucy had a covered roof over it's battlements but the center space was open to the air.

Nicely done. It kinda looks like a set that Lego can make into their "My Own Creation" line. It's nicely detailed, and small enough to be marketed as a set.

Remember Daniel Siskind's Blacksmith Shop? I think this MOC of yours deserves to become a licensed Lego set. Would be a great way for us to get parts. :D

Nice. I particularly like the castle which the keep seems almost(?) too small for... The interiors are very nicely crafted as well. Thanks for sharing and God Bless,

Hey Jacob,

Great keep. I particularly like these various window designs:

I'm looking forward to seeing this in the context of the whole castle.

Great MOC Jacob! I like the style, but it isn`t to special comparing to your other MOCs. This tower is in a different style as which you usually use, thats great.

Very nice, Jacob. The open roof but covered battlements are a really nice idea, and the interiors are very nicely made. The furniture in the bedroom is also cool, I like that cabinet thing. Where is this part of the castle? There doesn't seem to be any room for it in the closed shots of the keep. Altogether quite cool, and I can't wait too see the whole thing.

I know Jacob C. replied to you already, but it you're still confused, it's because in this picture it shows three levels of interior, and then the roofed battlements with open center are on top of that. Of course, since the folder's public now, you might've figured that out yourself.

Jacob,

I really like the stone vaults and tiled floors. Your interior details are also nice.

Yeah, I did after the folder was made public. Thanks for the explaination, however!

Good job once again,

Where is this part of the castle?
That's the basement and although it is part of the keep, it's not actually attached to it. (not by studs at least)
The upper 3 floors sits on top of it and can be removed.
The basement is attached to the rest of the castle I'm still working on.

This little teaser pic might help eplain it:
