So, I'm obsessing on arrow-slit windows.
After Anthony showed us his latest work:

then I responded with my arrow window MOC:

and Jason (catena) followed up with his own:
Ah, a challenge. Hey, a little competition is healthySo, here's my approach to an arrow loop in a one-stud-thick wall.

I spent some time looking over Jason's construction technique. His use of 2x2 corner plates with the 1x1 headlight bricks caught my fancy. There was something there to be copied. So I cogitated.
I still wanted to use the 1x2 panels, partly because I have so many, but also because I like having 1-plate wide windows.
My first variation can be seen here:

As always, I built this sample with whatever I could get my hands on quickly, with emphasis on type of piece rather than colour. It looks ugly in terms of colour, but you can also see what pieces were used.
This style, more than any other I've tried, really strains at the fit tolerance of Lego. Friction is the main thing keeping it together. That's why I built so much around it in order to display. It also shows the extra frills that can be added to make the design interesting.
Then I cogitated some more, and the next night I tackled it again. Hence:

This is a 1x6x5.33 wall unit at its most basic. I think I like it the most of all my attempts. Together with my original 2x6x5.33 window I have what I'll need -- now I just need to start creating buildings.
Okay, I think I've stopped obsessing now (so please, everyone, stop posting better ideas!!!!)
