The Red Death
No, this has nothing to do with Edgar Allan Poe...

It is, of course, Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, disguised as the Red Death for the Opéra's masked ball. Strictly from the book – in the novel, he has a tête de mort, a skull, rather than the theatrical half-mask. Embroidered on the back of his coat is (in French): "Do not touch me! I am the Red Death passing [among you]!"
As for the actual figure, he probably ought to be entirely red. I actually built this a while ago, mainly from an underwater-style Skeleton Drone from Alpha Team. I can't remember whether I built him to look like the Red Death or if I built him and decided he was perfect for that, but the idea stuck in my mind, especially with the hat (which is in the book). The cape was a recent addition to finalize the Red Death appearance...

What's the point of having a cake if you're not going to eat it?

Nice, clean fig with a nice, simple base. I haven't read the book, but great job anyway.

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

Would the death eater mask/head have been a better choice for the character? Trying to think of options....

Very dashing, though he does look primarily like an Ogel minion with a swashbuckling hat.

Nice. That's an interesting story ("Phantom"...that is) and a good fig. Very simple, but it conveys the idea well. I've been liking those torsos more and more lately and might have to find some of my own.

Very cool. I caught the Phantom reference right off, I love the book! You are correct, he should be all red, but the skull is perfect for this.

Snap D,
What a great minifig! I have not seen this movie in ages, and the colorized part (original) of the film is an unforgettable scene. IIRC, Erik (as MotRD) has a red hat, and a deathhead staff, but your Minifig idea is still very original and way cool! Kudos!
