Great, no?

I love the rocks leading to the wall. It certainly is large scale. He even made the troops non-fancy, like the movie. What you guys think?
I ow it to wunztwice for directing me here.

Pretty nifty! Definately awesome that it's so big.

I think it suffers a touch from Grey Wall Syndrom, and it doesn't have quite the same feel as I imagine it should, I think it's a little too light.

A great MOC, though. Definately deserving of more pictures.

Very cool! It's one of the best representations of the movie Helm's Deep I've seen. SOme work could be done on it, but nothing I could do to improve it. The rocks are also very well done!

Very nice :) It looks accurate to the film. I actually sumbled upon this a short while ago on brickshelf. My favorite bit would have to be the nazgul & his beast. And that's a very large & accurate curve on the outer wall too, I imagine that would be hard to do so perectly.

But yeah, big grey wall syndrome indeed. Not a great deal one could do about it without exercising some artistic licence ... maybe some mottling I guess

This has been discussed as a part of the TSL 2006 display. I studied this version when doing mine for NWBC.

- It's the best movie version HD in my opinion, and is therefore easily recognizable as HD
- Though, as a movie version it lacks several key elements such as a "lofty tower," the back staircase, and the sally port.
- The curved wall is a great achievement in Lego brick!
- I don't like how the "keep" (built into the cliff face in the movie), is "hanging out" in this version. It looks unfinished.
- I love the scale. Large and in charge
- I don't agree about big grey wallness, in this case that is good. Most real castles look that way. It made sense is building such a fortification, and it projects real power. I like the big walls here.

I need to get off my can and post my version this weekend.

Pretty good, but I've heard that the round shape of the building permanently damaged those bricks because unless you apply an incredible amount of pressure on those bricks, it's impossible for them to become that curvy.

Does it really damage them beyond use? It does look very nice on the MOC though.

You can still use them, but after a while of having been bent, they retain that property. So, they've gotta stay that way.

Can anyone see how the causeway was done? I think that's my favorite part.

This is great. It might be missing a few details, ut it's far better than i could do. I am very impressed ith the way the builder pulled off the curved keep, and the scale of the thing.

Yes, I was helping a fellow member in my LEGO club rebuild these: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2088765 I realized how much pressure the bricks are under. A few bricks were completely broken due to the pressure. (That isn't me in the picture btw, just another friend helping out :D )

On topic, even though Helms Deep has been done too many times, I think this has to be the best version I have seen. The curved wall gives it a really nice look.
