Black Falcons and Crusader Chess Set by astronut1
It looks like he missed the chess contest last year, and he's just posting them online now (correct me if I'm wrong), but Flickr user astronut1 has a great chess set featuring classic Castle factions:
I think the rooks and queens are especially great.

Very cool - easily identifiable pieces & excellent choice of factions. My fav are the rooks & knights

Wow, it's great. Why didn't lego make something this great? Don't get me wrong, the KK2 chess set and the viking chess set are great, but...this outclasses them a lot. I love the rooks.

This is great chess set. Looks very classic and the two sides are similar enough to be in the same set, but are different enough also.
Josh
I don't think this was made for the contest. The squares are too big. In the chess contest the squares could only be 4x4, but these are 6x6.Dunechaser wrote:It looks like he missed the chess contest last year, and he's just posting them online now (correct me if I'm wrong)

AFOL and his money are easily parted.

A pretty chess set, and as previously mentioned, the rooks are a very nice touch. The factions used are classic yet has wonderful colour contrast. Its generally very well done!
I was just wondering if somehow the knights can ride a horse (not necessarily a lego prefab horse, but more like a martin jasper horse

Man, this is what a chess set should look like! The pieces all 'feel' more like a real chess set. Nice job - and you got my attention with those classic figs! Very cool,

Ephesians 6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God..."
The perfect chess set with my two favorite factions.
