I am such a girl... CCCC entry

Post by the_lorax »

This is another entry for the CCCcompetition, which was inspired by my love of girly lego, especially the colours, and my excitement at belville bringing out some minifig scale pink castle pieces.

Thanks for looking and have a gorgeous day.

This totally made me laugh, then say "Cool!". I think this is certainly something that SHOULD have been done ages ago, but no one ever thought of it! So many of the castles in Disney movies have pale pink and blue accents on a white castle.

It's pink! Nice use of colours that I would never usually dream of touching ;) I really like the shape, but I am puzzled by those rocky bases ... they look ... well NOT-Lego! Great work :)

Thanks for the comments… I tend not to take myself too seriously so I was just messing about with my feminine side, which occasionally does make a showing.

And I am embarrassed to say, the bases are… bionicle set 8893 … I bought the set because it has a lot of delicious dark blue… yummy… And two of these base plates… but shhh don’t tell anyone.

Thank heavens! I thought that was Megablocks or something ... Great use of a specialised baseplate!

Are the weapons in that set compatible with normal figs?

Wow!

The funny thing was, I was looking on bricklink, and I thought that those skateboard ramps would make a great arched roof for a church or large hall. Apparently, they also make the perfect underside for a large bridge.

Fantastic work.

Very nice. Not a color scheme that I would have imagined as working, but you have pulled it off. Good luck in the contest!

Heh. That's pretty funny. I like that you used those wall pieces on the sides, and I think my favorite part is how you managed to use those skateboard ramps on the bridge. Well done. :)

That's the feature of this MOC that really jumps out at me -- the "perfect" arch. It helps to prove the adage: "All other Lego themes are parts-packs for Castle!"

Definitely a risky MOC to try and create  , but you managed to pull it off. Good work!

Thanks everyone...

The skateboard ramp bridge was just luck, when I was thinking of the idea I got a lot of my white building elements out and had them scattered around me waiting for inspiration. I was just sitting amongst them and fidgeting. A ramp piece was lying upside down, looked like a part of a bridge, added the other side, some technic pins, and there was a bridge.

I am only fairly new to using bricks in non the right way up fashion, but my friend Neonbug has certainly been my muse and mentor in helping me be confident enough to try different building techniques.

Cheers

No offense, but it looks like summat frm a Barbie movie. Pink Legos just aren't my liking. Even if the tower was greatly built (which your was) if it was built with pink pieces I would dislike it. But the tower is rilly good! Welcome to CC noob ;)

This is just the thing my daughter and I have been planning for some time. This is very well executed indeed. I didn't know the bionicle bases looked so, well Mega-Blocky. I'm glad to know it's all LEGO bricks. The colors are just perfect. Recluse took the words out of my mouth about the pastel blue and pink. Very "Sleeping Beauty" color template. The whole is very satisfying, you should be proud.

I'm wondering if that would make a good color for contrast on this. It's nice, but another color like dark blue or purple would help define the shape more.
