I personally liked this model, and thought I'd share it with you guys (I did not make it).

What I liked most was the neck design and wings, which look very well done.
I ow it to wunztwice for directing me here.

That's an awesome dragon. Good rider too, how does he stay on? I'd also give the rider a weapon, like a halberd.

Sweet! I've been trying to make one for awhile now, but it is nothing even close to as good as this.
That's an awesome dragon.
It's not a dragon. The fell beast is from the third LOTR book, and is the steed of the Nazgul.

This makes the one I made look like garbage. I think the maker should add some more "filler" to the wings. Thewy seem a little bony but this is the best fell beast I have ever seen.

Very bionicle but I love it. It has a great shape & captures the idea of the fell beast well.

Danju, I don't mean to be rude, but did you even look at the pics? It shows how the rider "stays on" in several of them. There is even a closeup of the rider that shows this. Its a hinge pieces with four studs on it.

I know, but I'm wondering how the mechanism works. I still think you should give the rider (black knight? wraith?) a weapon. I'd suggest a big halberd. Other than that, it's good, but it looks like a mutant rahkshi crossed with a dragon.

Yes, and a fell beast is a dragon.

What? Did you even read the books? The fell beast was described as looking like a naked bird. They were bred specifically for the Ringwraiths and did not breathe fire. A dragon has to breathe fire in order to be considered a dragon.

I like it. He captured the PJ roundedhead design well. Very nice! We could use this guy's design for Shruikan, Galbatorix's black dragon, in my Eragon thread. Have any idea how to contact him?

In the movies, they were draconic creatures. And play DnD, Dragons do NOT have to breathe fire. Acid breath dragons, cold breath dragons, lightning breath dragons..

Also, you just denied it being a dragon, then said you want the design for a dragon. I LOLed.

Well... it was Kelderic who told you that it wasn´t a dragon and Lord Nev that wanted to use it as one...

And regarding the definition of a dragon I don´t agree with anyone of you but let´s keep this on-topic.

The creation in itself is pretty nice, but the head doesn´t work IMO. Nice solution for the wings though.

I've never seen a MOC of this... whatever you want to call it  . It's a great idea, and done very well. The way that the fig stays on is creative too, and the wings looks very cool. Also, I like the head piece used - it looks a lot like the Fell Beast.

These two links are cool, if for nothing else then the "look" of it - really seems like LOTR in LEGO.

Parts of this thread are flirting with off-topicness and are getting rather heated. Let's keep it on topic and civil.

If you want to have a discussion of dragons (as it seems to be popping up a lot lately), then use the Medieval Life forum. And, for crying out loud, if someone is going to use outside sources for the authenticity of dragonhood, lets have it be a little more credible than Dungeons and Dragons, huh?

No, the fell beast was not a dragon. In the LOTR universe, dragons were wiped out. I think the last one was Smog. So, this is not supposed to be a dragon. However, despite the builder's intentions, it would be a good model for a dragon, so if we could contact the builder, we should try.

Hey kelderic, I think what Josh (and I) are asking everyone to do now is to talk more about the MOC and it's building/builder, and less about whether Tolkien meant it as a dragon, or bird, or what-not.

Maybe a PM would be better for you guys to continue this... or you could start another thread.
