Redmoon Castle

Post by gh0st0f0nyx »

Hello!
story:
after the battle of the second red castle (sorry with all the red!), King jayko set off to find new companions (Vladek the same). Jayko found some new companions in some villages. They told him to go to Redmoon Castle to seek his destinty on what he should do next. so, he traveled there. The wizard there told him that he would tell him what to do if he stopped Vladek from destroying the castle. So, They are now fighting yet again against Vladek for the Redmoon Castle (it's only red on a fullmoon).
Vladek is back with vengence. His siege towers, dragons, and elephants are gone. Most of them were destroyed in the last battle. But He has trained his new army with advanced skills. Among the ranks include Barbarians (better skilled then the vikings), Assassins, Super Wookies, and Elite Ninjas. Vladek is going to use sneakyness overe force. There's a large chance the castle will fall...

I'm sorry, but I have homework. I'll soon upload more of the pics later. For now this is all I got. Sorry.
other comments: It's much smaller then my first castle, but it used the same amounts of bricks! Also, I've taken people's advice. I've overlapped more in most places, and I've added windows (in vunrable spots). There's also a stable in the front, a drabridge, ledges, and a bunch of stairs!!!
Enjoy! Will post new pics when I can

Wow, a great improvement on your last castle. I love the way there is almost like a main road leading throughout the castle. Also I like the attacking army. A suggestion. Take all you mini figs off except for a couple. Them look at the castle and think to yourself. Is this the way "I" want it. Make sure you like your castle. This is my 200th post YAY! :D

I actually like the overlapping and windows. The only problem is that sometimes when I overlap there's left over room (1x1) and I only have 2x2 reds, so I usually have to use a random colored 1x1, which makes it look weird. I also like that I added the windows and I like putting them at easy to reach places for infantry because now it gives the defenders more of a challenge.
Congrats on the 200th post!

Take this as an opportunity. Use the off-setting colour as the basis for framing and edging work. Don't use blue (please!) but white, yellow, or black (depending on your available mix) would add an interesting contrast. It would even highlight some features -- for example, a white frame around your windows.

I too like this castle, an improvement over the Great Tower. And your storytelling helps to add to the feel of the place.

That's a good idea. Though I need to restock on colors. all I have is red and a few other random colored bricks. the only 1x2 (sorry I made mistake on saying 1x1) colors I have in numbers is brown...ugh...
And I also need to get new window colors...What was I thinking when I went to the lego pick a brick wall and chose green colored windows?! :)
Thanks for the advice. I have to make a note to go to Lego Store so I can restock On some needed 1x2s. And some new windows. There's a bunch more stuff I need...

Actually, I like green windows, but as the other guys said highlighting the windows with another color would do wonders. Also, I like how you used so many maces, that's pretty realistic and you rarely see that in lego unfortunately.

Wow, you are making these fast. This one is better than the last two, and has a very interesting design.

This is a great castle. It has an Anthony Savaish feel to it, which is definitely a tribute to your building skills. The colour is cool too. I didn't think that it would work, but it definitely has.
