The Tom Snellen MOCS

Post by MrTS »

Hi everyone, i'm Tom Snellen (MrTS  ) and i'm new to these forums. I have been around on eurobricks before, but had problems registering here (because of hotmail accounds got banned)
Anyway here i am.
I made 6 entries to the CCIV contest some time ago. And i would like to know what you think. It's my first contest i'm competing in and these are also some of my first custom castle MOCs. You all have probably allready seen everything, but i still dont know what you all think about it. So please let me know your thoughts about my CCCIV entries.
MISC entry
Battle Scene entry
Custum Figure entry
Medieval Life entry
Room Interior entry
Vehicle entry

I already posted them on eurobricks so some of you already shared their opinions, but others still haven't and i would like to know their opinions too

Nice. I really like your medieval life entry, such great detail. Everything from the street to the laundry lady in the balcony/roof thing. The peasant revolt one is also very good. The battle scene really doesn't do it for me, though I can't say why.

Hi Tom,

Welcome to CC! Since I'm one of the contest judges I'm not going to comment on any entries until after judging is finished, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your building.

First off, Welcome to CC.

Your MOCs are quite refined already. I really enjoyed the battle scene and misc entry, although they are all good. The jester on stilts is an idea I have never seen before, so great work there! Keep it up, I'll watch for more of your stuff.

Welcome to CC. I believe that you are a front runner for Master Builder in the contest. I'm not saying this to be courteous, or to patronize a new person. I believe that your medieval interior, medieval life, and battle scene are all in the mix to win their respective categories. Your vehicle, peasant's revolt, and fig are dark horses, and have a good chance of being honourable mentions. We'll see if my predictions are correct when the judging is over, but I seriously think you should open up some shelf space for that Yellow Castle.

Hi and welcome, good MOCs all around, the best is probably the Medieval Life entry. What really struck me though was the excellent use of the Exoforce hair in your Custom entry, brilliant idea!

Very cool work! The battle scene is really impressive as well - for such a small area, you have a lot of action going on, but it doesn't seem to crowded.

I was curious as to what the wizard and the black night were doing in the back corner though?

I added this text to the entry:
In this scene we see the Dragon Knights attacking the Lionhearts castle. In picture (a) you have on overview of the scene. On the bottom left corner you can see the dark battle lord getting his last instrucions from the leader of the dragon knights, the evil wizard Jakan. On the bottom right corner you can see knights bringing in a battering-ram. In picture (b) we can see that the lion knights outside the castle are being overwhelmed by the dragon knights. The dargon knights are using ropes to climb on the castlewall. One has allready reached the top, othes are still climbing. Some lion knights try to prevent this by throwing spears and cutting the ropes. In picture (c) we can see three dragon knights trying to make a breach in the castle wall. They already made a large gap. Are the lion knights able to defend the castle?

So, the wizard is the 'brain' behind the dragon knights, its their leader and he has planned this attack. The black knight is kind of a general. The wizard is giving the black knight instructions for battle. He is pointing with a stick on a map (which lies on the ground) of the castle...pointing out the weak points in the lions castle....something like that.

Ahhh... very cool... sorry I didn't see that... I always say the best MOCs always have a story behind them... :)

They are all frightfully brilliant. The interior is especially gorgeous, I love the stairs and the details in the second room. This is the interior I think will be walking away with the prize. I also love the jester, he is just awesome.

First of welcome to CC. Second great MOC. It has a bit of a KK2 feeling to it. But it is mixed with that feeling of Black knight venue.

I really like the battle scene, although the guy digging literally through the wall is a little inaccurate, but overall the battle is great.
The building is also excellent.
