Finally, one of my two favorite categories from this year (along with bridges), interiors:
Tom Snellin's entrance hall and needle room was actually my personal favorite. Lots of great details like the use of grill plates in the walls, the mousehole, the cat trying to get at the mouse, the ghost. I like the bookshelf set one stud into the wall quite a bit, and also the red carpet built into the stairs. Shouldn't those be yellow cheese slopes for the mice, btw?
Jens' throne room and kitchen That said, Jens' creation is also awesome and a well-deserved winner. One of the best things about the CCC each year is the inspiration to create new building techniques, and Jens' round rug, curtains, and stained glass windows are great examples. Other great details are the well in the kitchen, the tire as cauldron, the candles, and the patterned rug in the throne room. I really like the touches of humor - the knight being introduced to the less-than-attractive princess and the guy on the ladder in the kitchen. Is there a vampire in the attic?
Neonbug and Lorax's Sog Manor rounds out my personal favorites. All of the various quilts made from printed tiles are really cool. Cheese wedges are used to great effect in the table runner and the canopied bed. I also really like that spinning wheel and the very simple but effective 3-legged stool design.
Some others, in no particular order:
Stefan Dittmar's Serpents Hall This has some great details like the snake-backed chair and the chandalier. The way the space up above is defined by the rafters that go out of the frame, as it were, is well done.
Brendan's Cathedral and Crypt Of course those awesome stained glass windows are the most striking element in this MOC, and have already been commented on. I also really like the coffins in the crypts. Some nice finishing touches are the way those torches are attached in a way that doesn't break up the rounded columns and the use of cheese wedges to finish off the arches in the crypts.
DARKspawn's tower That's a great spiral staircase design. Also nice fig placement and cool battlements.
BohuslavIII's Cellar The rack in the torture chamber is a simple but very effective design. The axe in a block of wood is nice as well, as are the rats getting at the grain (and at a bloody arm?!?!).
Thomas Wunz's Surprise I love the way you can see the ghost above and below the floor. That princess doesn't seem very surprised, btw.
