If your entry is on brickshelf you do not have to make a thumbnail. Brickshelf already does that. Your entry could be disqualified for the lack of a fence. We will take a look at it. Your images are also too large. They can not be larger than 800x600 pixels.
I just submited a couple of entries but messed up on the Joust catagory & submitted the wrong URLs, I resubmitted the entry with the correct links. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads-up.
Thank you for letting us know.

Wait- If you post your entry[ies] in the forum, do you still have to enter it in that other thing?
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Yes. It has always been this way for large contests officially sponsored by Classic-Castle.

i wasnt here for a few weeks, but when i finally browsed the entries i was disappointed to see still very few entries. also i entry caught my attention because it didnt fit the requirements

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=246539

"Build a mobile bolt launching siege machine. Your creation should have a gunnery crew and attacking cavalry. "
edit: this entry doesnt qualify the criterias in bold. the machine is ought to have something to make it mobile also attacking cavalry.

I am still confused as to whether or not we can put as many minifigs as we want on our castles / in the siege.
If a flag at the top of the castle exceeds the 64 stud limit, can we be disqualified?

We suggest not using more than 25 figures for each faction. This is not a hard rule. Please remember that the castle is more important than the number of figures in the entry. You should focus more on the castle than the siege.

Flags can stick past the 64x64 limit. Flag poles should not stick out past the 64x64 limit.

I do not remember approving this entry. It is possible that another admin did. All entries should have two factions as stated in the requirements. Obviously entries that do not meet category requirements will recieve lower grades.

I still don't see the point of entering into this contest if you don't have a lot of pieces. I don't mean to flame or anything but creativity, originality or what ever else we are graded on, (oh yeah, detail) all of that takes pieces so that you can use them. Even though you have said that this new grading scale helps keep people with less pieces in the game. I for one don't want to spend almost fifty or sixty dollars on lego. Yeah I love it, but I can't, I don't have the money being a kid! For example, I look at the models being made now and wonder how I can beat them with a very limited number of green, gray, blue, colored pieces, and a very limited number of minifigures (almost 8 now). I find this scale still giveing an unfair advantage to the "richer man", though I never knew the other scale of gradeing since I was never around at that time. (If you don't know what Im talking about just say so) again I don't mean to flame, I just want answers about this scale you use now.

While most people build for the prizes, few actually win. If you want to enter, build for the fun of building.

The three smallest castle sets have 123 or less elements. That is not a lot. Of course if you do not have many castle sets, it will be hard to make other castle creations. Hopefully fans without many castle pieces will be able to eventually buy copies of the latest sets or recieve them as presents. These sets have many good elements for castle mocs.

Blue Head,

Based on having judged many contests now, I can honestly say that creation size plays very little role. Obviously it is dependant on the category - in this contest, for instance, the ballista entries will be quite small while the castle siege entries will be much larger. However, creativity is much more important than showing off a huge collection.

When I set up the entry to take a picture, should I take the pictures just setting on the floor/table like you would do if you're reviewing a set? Or should I make surroundings out of LEGO? Thanks

Do creatures such as this count in the number of figs per side? (as long as we don't have too many of them  )

Landscaping is more important for the Tower and Castle Siege categories than for the smaller categories. Photographing mocs against a white background usually looks the best.

A few creatures are fine as long as you do not have a huge army of tigers.

I have one final question, are we allowed to move people around in each of the three pictures, i.e. if you can't see them in the shot, move them to a spot where you can?
