This is great. I definitely want to enter, but I'll have to find some time to escape from the mountain of homework I'm under. :(
I hope I can win one of these great sets, although my chances are unlikely. However, nothing's impossible. The wheels in my head are already turning.

Super-duper! I am very much looking forward to these sets, and this would be a nice way to get one without buying it...

Anyway, I just can't wait. Unfortunately, I might only get to start building after Brickfest.

Thanks, LEGO and Admins!

First of all, I big thanks to TLG and the Admins here! Second, I'd also love to get my hands on these sets but I don't have the LEGO to make much, but I may try a Joust.

kelderic wrote:Okey, the rules say that you cannot enter something show online before March 5th. What if I had a creation, such as a ballista, and then updated and improved it, changing the colors and shape. Would that be alright, even if it was similar to the original?

Kelderic
It would have to be significantly different from the previous creation.
I have a question. For the Castle Siege category, can you have a keep instead of a castle, and if not can we just have part of a castle?
No. If you build a keep it should also have a perimeter wall and courtyard. Portions of a castle are not acceptable. Small castles with courtyards (mocs of a similar size to 6080, 6074, or 6086) are acceptable.

For the tower category a maiden is not required. You should have some type of prisoner. This could be a knight or skeleton in jail.
Hey if Bruce enters, can I take his place as a judge?
No you can not. Sorry

Actually, I do have a question..... custom parts? I'm not talking about cutting up tons of bricks to make some horrible looking balista that could never be, I'm talking about some minifig accessories. Custom armor, weapons, capes, etc. The good custom stuff still retains the lego feel and is often indistinguishable from the real thing.

This is shaping up to be a great contest, I can't wait to see everyones entries. Unfortunately I have several questions
My first question is probably retarded, but do pics that are hosted on brickshelf count as resized?
My other question is, if I have a castle for the seige category and I stick a maiden in the topmost tower, would that count for both categories? :D

This contest is awesome! Thank you, Lego (Steve Witt, I assume) for donating these sets! I will definitely be entering.

I will be still running a 3rd Annual Battles Contest. It is merely postponed until after the Castle Contest.

Looking at the rules more clarefully, I was surprised to discover that Admins are eligible to enter. This has me more excited than almost anything else. I'm hoping a few of the Admins will be joining the rest of us plebeians in this contest. It would be a great treat to see some of the true masters step out of retirement (Sava) and compete with us mere mortal folk.

I'm betting the competition for this one will be absolutely fierce!

This sounds like it's going to be alot of fun, and I can't wait to see some entrees.
You just gotta' love that Lego is donating all the prizes- Very cool.

Looks like some cool catagories, the Ballista one sounds fun.
Guess I've got work to do now!

Hi, Admins

I have a question regarding the Joust catagory. I would like to create a complete joust scene with nobles' pavillion, tents, peasants, a little bit of medieval life at the joust, etc - in addition to the 2 jousting factions. Not on a massive scale but large (hopefully). Would this suit?

The admins and LEGO are working on iron out specifics about the contest rules and categories. Expect to see more information and answers to your questions on Monday.
