Illustrating the Odyssey or Illiad
Both two great books, the Odyssey and the Illiad, full of the epic hero cycle, and many different plots going on, I think it would be a great book to illustrate. You would not have to illustrate the hard scenes, or the...... scenes, but you could illustrate the ones with Prince Telemachus and such.

Now that would be a gargantuan project...
And what's this thing with English and latinizing Greek words?* There is no U in Greek... so I guess you refer to Telemachos
And, as a matter of interest, what would a .....scene be?
*Nothing personal gainst you, Imdol.

I actually considered this a while ago (at the time I had a quote from Odysseus in my sig); I was reading the Samuel Butler translation and it is a truly epic story. I abandoned the idea when I realised just how many characters there actually were; probably the largest cast in literary history. Perhaps someone like the guy who does the Brick Testament could do this but I think it's a project beyond the reach of most of us. You could do individual scenes though.

Look, I am not going to be a kreek scholor or anything. I am just refering to the book, Odyssey.
I thought out a scene, and I am beginning it.

Be a great project. Would be tough since you are missing some of the fantasy elements (the Cyclops comes to mind). It would also be a great theme, though I'm not sure how much kids would be into it.

I think that's understandable. My version has over 150,000 words!Prince Imdol wrote:Nobody appreciates the good classics's anymore.....

I do, but I think one thing that makes them less-read is that they aren't usually written in the style most people are used to.Prince Imdol wrote:Nobody appreciates the good classics's anymore.....

Harry Potter is different than the odyssey, but I think most people would agree that it is not as good literature as The Odyssey.

They are both long books that some people like a lot. That's the only similarity that I can see... I think HP is illustrated more because it might be easier to do.JoshWedin wrote:You just lost me there. What does Harry Potter have to do with the Odyssey?
