:) Great! I can't wait for the Robin/Orion scene or the map.

And Napoleon, that about the consul title was actually in our history book at my school
Btw, with "book-cover style" descriptions, do you mean short texts that sort of tells anything that has happened in the story so far?
Good they teach stuff like that in Danish schools; maybe they understand the importance of it.

Yeah, the short texts that briefly tells the story so far is exactly what I meant. :)

How is everyone liking the Knights of Prasden story? I couldn't help but laugh at the scene where the Sarge explains mass hysteria. It takes a long time to copy my writings from paper to Open Office to Classic-Castle, and I had tons of problems doing it, so I hope everyone enjoys it!

Whoah! The story's been really dead lately! :( I'll do one more entry, but after that I hope someone else's posts pop up. I like the story a lot, and I really appreciate the time people have taken to participate. Special thanks should be given to Sir Zepp. The first member, he was the guy who got the story cookin' with gas. :)

As I'm finding is usuall with me, production has been delayed. However, since I am down with a sort of crud (not like I'm going to vomit, but I just have this lack of energy, runny nose sort of thing) it is the perfect time to catch up on a bit of writing. In that big long post I'm almost finished with, I sort of got stuck, but I think I have a solution to where it will be up soon.

Boy, since my log-ins are few and far in-between, I've been logging on and the story is far ahead of me! (In several respects, that's a good thing! :) ). I believe that for both the casual reader, and one of the story-writers, it would be a good idea to have a list of characters, complete with descriptions, on the site. That way, we could keep track of all the characters as we post, and the reader wouldn't get confused. However, I will need you guy's help...

I didn't want to go entirely with what Sava uses with his characters, but I did use his as a template.

Name: King Alfred the V
Age: 75
Nationality: Forestmen
Status/Profession: King of the Forestmen
Background: Alfred grew up amongst the Royal Court of the Forestmen; as such, he expiranced first hand what it is like to be a ruler over a country that is not officialy recognized. His life has been a constant struggle between trying to keep the Forestmen alive and trying to simply manage the kingdom. It doesn't help that his young son Robin is dashing all over the countryside, trying to do good but mostly just getting in trouble. He does, however, have complete faith that his son will one day rule over the Forestmen, and be as good, if not better, a ruler than his father.
Character: Alfred is an assertive individual, but when he does get mad, boy do you know it! He likes to stay on good terms with everybody, but he isn’t afraid to ruffle some feathers in order to get the job done. His subject love him for his gentle caring and attention he gives them; the members of his court (and his enemies) fear him for his unforgiving wrath when he is angered.

If there is any changes you all would like to make to the template, just post it, and we'll make modifications.
I hope ypou like what I typed for Alfred. If I got the age wrong, or some other detail, be sure to let me know about it. All of these character descriptions will go on the website.

That looks good :)
Ill try one too:
Name: Eiran Hakonson
Age: 42
Nationality: Norvunda
Status/Profession: Norvunda chieftain, raider and longboat captain
Background: The son of a chieftain of the Norvunda, Eiran have been with on his fathers raids almost ever since he could carry a sword. When his father died, Eiran also became an important landowner in Norvund. However, when spring comes, he oftenly let other people do the job at home and sail out with his longboats.
Character: You could almost say that Eiran grew up on the deck of a longboat with a battleaxe in his hand. As in, he rarely hesitates to punish cowardice and general insults of him, his friends or his people. However, a good fighter (both friend and foe) will always receive some respect from Eiran, and he´s not the type to let down his friends.

As with Zepps description, just say it if you want something changed :)

This is just a quick shoutout; as manager of the webstie, it is my responsibility to do these things.

If any of you guys would like, you can actually register with the Castleland Group Stories site. When you are on the site, it says to the left "Members Are". It will say "Log in or Register". If any of you would like to help manage parts of the site, I can make you guys a Moderator, much like what we have here on Classic-Castle. You could then add your character descriptions directly to the site, Napoleon could add country descriptions, etc. However, keep in mind: if there is something that I believe needs to be changed, or modified, or deleted, I will let you know about it, and we can work together to fix it.

You don't have to register with the site, ut if you'd like too, that'd be great! Oh, Albatross--the whole registering thing just might be a good way for you (and all of us) as Third Consul to promote the story. You (or maybe one of us) could, if you were registered, post a blog update about what is happening in the story.

Anyways, I just thought I'd give you all a quick reminder.

Victory!! Our internet problems are fixed!

Just had to get that out there :) Anyways, I have a question for all of you:

The whole story about Elwyn fighting the Prasdens, getting captured, escaping with the help of Svlick, ending up in the cavesystems, etc.--compared to the other events (the batle at the pass, for example), when does that take place? Can it take place at any time?

The whole reason I'm asking is that, obviously, the order of posts on C-C is illogical, since wew have several different things going on at once. When I transfer the story from C-C to the site, it is my job to put them in a logical format. If you follow this link (http://castlelandgroupstories.webs.com/ ... ianwar.htm) it will take you to the story. I have changed the format: instead of the whole thing being on one page, I have divided it into seperate "books" (think Lord of the Rings or The Immortal War).

I have another dillema. Look at the name of book four--The Wrath of the Norvunda. Origianally, that was the name for the fisrt chapter of that book. I love the name, but I don't like it as name of the book, because it is only the first one or two chapters of that book that exclusivley deal with the Norvunda and their enemies; the rest also include the Forestmen, and the battle at the pass, and so on. If you could read what I have in that book so far, tell me about Elwyn, and reply back, that would be great.

Thanks!

EDIT: What do you think of a sort of "logo" for our story, or a banner link, or a favicon? The "logo" could possible replace the picture of the dwarf on the upper left-hand corner of the site. He does look kind of cool--maybe we'll just leave him.

Maybe the acronym CGS Castleland Group Stories. I'm just throwing out ideas. Reply soon!

I'm not sure which is appropriate in this situation: Reply to your own post, or edit a post that's already been edited two or three times. I went with replying because this is entirely seperate info then the last post, and it's on another day.

Here's a few character descriptions:

Name: Svlick
Age: 48
Nationality: Wolfpack
Status/Profession: Pack Cheiftain
Character: Every since he was a lad, Svlick had to learn the cleaverness and guile of the Wolfpack. In a more desperate situation than even the Forestmen, Svlick and the Wolfpack are all very adept at accomplishing their goals through trickery and deciet. A nice enpugh person once you get to know him, Svlivck doesn't like being betrayed, and will be sure to inflict revenge uupon anyone who double-crosses him.

Name: Cornelius
Age: 30
Nationality: Forestmen
Status/Profession: Messenger for the King
Character: Slightly niave, Cornelius would jump off a cliff if his king told him to. With that niaveness comes loyalty, however. Cornelius strives to accomplish his work quickly and productivley, which is why King Alfred made him his messenger. Sometimes poked fun of for his flaming red hair, Cornelius is actually a decent fighter.

Tell me what you think!

I don't know when I will get around to registering to Free-Webs, but along with moderating CGS.com, I would love to try to make a site for the Imperial Wars, my other major writing. I tried to make a Free-Webs site before, but I couldn't figure out how to keep it from displaying where I live, and the whole thing seemed a little complicated, and since I am not the greatest technical wiz in the world, I need help. I see, Sir Zepp, that the site dosen't say your location; how do you do that? I would like to use the same kind of page you use for TTM; do you pay for that style of page, or is it free?

Okay, first you go to http://www.webs.com/ Notice it's not FREEwebs.com, but Webs.com. It will have a big, shiny button (A fact that I greatly appreciated) saying "Get Started". Above this button is a thingie that will say 'Select Your Website Type". You'll want to choose personal. Hit "Get Started".

It will take you to a page that has lots of boxes that you type stuff into. First, your e-mail, then, your Password, then your name (Put down Napoleon. If you put your real name, it will display your real name for several functions, and it will be visible for anyone on the internet to see). Then, your birthdate. Then a "How did you find Webs?" Then Gender.

The second half of the page is choosing stuff for your site (the good part!). First you'll type in your site's adress (or domain name). You do not have to put http://www. Just start typing the actual name. For instance, when I made Castleland Group Stories, all I typed in the box was "castlelandgroupstories" and that was it. ONCE YOU CREATE YOUR DOMAIN NAME, IT CANNOT BE CHANGED. YOU"D HAVE TO CREATE A WHOLE NEW SITE, OR UPGRADE YOUR SITE, WHICH COSTS MONEY :( .

Then, you'll make your site title. Do not make thsi too specific, as it will be at the top of every page on your site. For instance, Castleland Group Stories is general enough. Instead of "The Three Mercenaries" for my site, I chose "Logan's LEGO Tales" because it was general enough that I could add more stories to it later.

Then, you'll chose a more specific site type. You'll want to choose either "Enthusiasts" or "Personal"--I can't remember which one I chose for Logan's LEGO Tales and Castleland Group Stories.

Next, you'll select a template--this is one of the funner parts. I chose the book for Logan's LEGO Tales because I would have mostly stories on there. However, I went with the Fantasy one for Castleland Group Stories because not only did it look good, but I wanted to do something different.

Click "Continue to Next Step"

Ok, you're almost there. Now you haev to choose the first few pages for your site. It already has "Home" locked into place; but don't worry. You can change the name of the page later, if you want something like "Main' or whatever.
Don't fret too much over this part, because you can always use the "add page" or "add application' function later if there is anything else you want to add.

This is the best part! Click the colassal, green, shiny button that says "Create My Site".

Never in the whole process does it require a physical adress. As to your e-mail, the only ay it's be visible to anyone else is if you had "members' on your site (since you'd be the first member, I think (I don't remmber) that it might show your e-mail. However, I doubt it. I'll have to look at CGS to find out for sure.

I know you're under a vow of silence, but if you need help once you have the site created, I would prefer you communicate via PM rather than on the forum. If not, then I can do it on the forum, but that's not my preferred method (no offense to anyone-no offense at all). If you need hel pinterpeting those instructions, just ask!

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to add...the whole thing is entirely free. If you want more functions, or more memory, or no advertising on your site (the advertising is vey discreet. Look at CGS--that's all it is), then you'll have to pay money. But for the basics (which is actually quite a bit), it's totally free. Oh, and you don't have to mess around with HTML. You have the option of inserting raw HTML if you want to, but that's only an option, nothing more.

Wow, really descriptive and easy to follow; just what the doctor ordered! Thanks a lot! I hope to have TIW up and running by tonight; so expect a link. :) What do ya think of my new sig? :eyebrows: I thought it was a geat choice for my motto, since I love writing so much.

EDIT: I am now creating the site. How do I change that little pic in the corner? :?

EDIT: Except for the pic in the corner, the site is ready!

*drum roll* And now presenting...http://theimperialwars.webs.com/ :woo: It was pretty easy and fun after Zepp gave me those instructions. What does everybody think?

I don't want to get off topic, so this will be my last post about my problems over on Webs.com. I need help.

A long while back, I made a site named Castleland. I couldn't figure out how to use it, so I abandoned It and forgot it. Yesterday, I made a new site called The ImperIal Wars that worked just fine. This morning, I tried logging into my new site for the first time since setting it up and couldn't. You see, I used a different password when I made the second site (I didn't even remember the old site and password). After trying and failing to sign-in many times, I asked for them to resend my password. They did. There was one problem: they resent my OLD password. I need my NEW password. I have never gotten a verification e-mail for my new site. I keep re-typing my new password and all it wants to do is use my old one. Please, ANYONE, help me; if no one can help, it looks as if I will have to abandon Webs and my new site to which I can't sign-in to. :( :(

When I went through a bunch of confusing crap, I actually registered as a "fan/member" of my own site!

Hmmm...sounds odd. I have a few questions for you, and then I might be able to help you. Forgive me if I ask something you've already answered.

#1 Did you use the same e-mail for both sites?
#2 Do you know the password you used for the Impireal Wars Site
#3 Do you know the password for the old site?
#4 Do you log in as "impirealwars.com or as your e-mail?

Please answer those questions (a few of them I think you've answered, but this will help me get organized), and then I'll make a reccomendation. Worse come to worse, they have an e-mail adress you can e-mail questions to--the folks there might be able to help you.

Oh, one thing I can reccomend trying right now: if you answered "impirealwars.com" or something other than your email for question four, try logging in with your email.

Well, i actually dont know what this "favicon" thing is, but a logo and/or banner link sounds really cool!
I hope you get the problems with The Imperial Wars fixed, Napoleon. Ive read a little bit of the Battle of Arsoa (think that was the name), and despite im usually most into medieval stuff, i really liked it :) .
Also, i think the story is progressing really well.
