the skellies can't be that dumb if, for instance the black armor wearing one, can be a finalist in the lists at a tourney.
anyway nice debate so far

I logged-in just to ofer my support and reasons in favour of the Suprime-Skeleton-Victory!

Honestly, it's not just a fantacy thing, where the Undead are kewl and stuff...

...but realistically, having solid massed infantry, that causes fear and has unlimited endurance.

TWO mighty dragons, I believe these massive Dragons are superior in strength and fighting skill to their baby cousins from Castle's past sets.

A fully-armed, mounted Skeleton Knight on a barded warhorse.
(_huge indicator of intelligence... putting steel over bone displays high reasoning skills which suggests he has a mind that can lead his troops and use tactics_)

Some of the Skeletons are shown using Bows & arrows... Bad guys having missle troops is a big advantage.

And finally, MAGIK...

:eyebrows: Don't fall into the trap of thinking the newest faction is the best.

Orks would fail... and don't forget, skeletons are brainless... but Orks are mindless...

I think the Dragon Masters would win.

Even though they have small forts etcetera, they make up for it by using the power of magic...and dragons.
Their leader is a powerful wizard of sorts, their warriors are feirce fighting men and their dragons fight under their power.

So I think the Dragon Masters would win. :D

Two things #1 :orc: The Trolls Shaman could counter the Wizards Magic :o ,possibly even taking control over the Skeletons :twitch: #2 The Wizard was beaten by the Crownies, that why he hired the Trolls :orc: (read the story on the TLG website).

no way that shaman dude the trolls have is probably the worst spell caster ever I mean think about it, what are trolls famously known for? for being idiots. I'm certain that the wizard is probably very inteligent and not even the smartest troll would come close. plus the troll shaman didn't corrupt the dragons so he/she is at a disadvantage.
and still where is the evidence that the skellies lost, did lego make a set with a dead/imprisoned wizard (if so inform me so I can check my sanity!) the story says he drove them back, yes, but thnk about it, the republic drove the sith back but then sidious took it over(sorry I'm also a sw geek and this is a good example)
then view this list
1)no affect from climate/landscape
2)instant fear tactics
3)every victory=more skellies
4)no evidence as to stupidity
5)cavalry AND air support
6)magic
7)no supply lines
8 )dont care about honor, chivalry, or kindness(oops didn't realize eight parenthesey is a smiley)
9)no second thoughts
10)skellies are totally awesome :D
(also I believe goblin is more correct than troll or orc because orks are tolkeins thing and trolls are always depicted as being bigger than humans.)
still a great debate, vive l'empuerer

Black Falcons because they have the wisdom and wiles of the old. *Dodges flying shoe*

(Yes, I am well aware of the prevailing opinion around this) :)

This is another one that belongs in Stories, not castle sets... castle sets is just for review and talk of the actual sets, guys... this kind of stuff is for the realm of imagination applied to the sets... stories. :)

I didn't want to say it, because they are not my favorite faction, but I picked skeletons... they have the powerful wizard, some huge dragons, and the stamina and numbers of the undead... plus... if someone on the other faction dies... perhaps can be turned to the undead side (depends on what rules you use I guess).

Second to them I would pick a toss-up between Scorpions and Fright Knights, with Scorpions coming out ahead most likely... huge legions, siege machines, and a very strong castle.

Trolls are tough, but they don't give me the impression of brilliance and tactics, and all throughout history, the one with the better tactics has almost always won the war, despite losing some battles.

Well, this is an interesting discussion.
I dont really know who would win, but there are a number of facts we must think of:
1. Just exactly HOW storng are the necromancer, Willa, Majisto and the troll sorcerer?
2. Does anybody killed by the skellies become a part of their army?
3. Just exactly HOW storng are the different dragons?
4. Are we only counting the forces the factions hvae from one of each set with them?
And so on.
But maybe, i think the skellies or orcs would have a quite good chance.
(btw., i neither dont think of the dragon masters as evil)

Sir Zeppelin wrote:The Fright Knights are scary, but that's all for show,
There's little about battle these knights know,
The Dragon Masters have serpents on thier side,
but kill these, and they'll be fried,
The skeletons look mean; strong as a wall,
But a kick in the ribs will make them fall,
The Bulls are strong, not one I'd want to fight,
But when they get reckless they lose their might,
The Rogue knights are one to have on your side,
But they'd just as soon leave with the tide,
The shadow knights look like a fright,
But they'd rather take to the shadows than fight,
All of these factions are worthy opponets,
But wich has the best component?
Which will stand above them all,
Which will stand Tall?
The Wolfpack, they would endure!
that they would win I am sure,
They may be few,
but they are not new,
years of experiance is on their side,
they guard their fortress with great pride!
They are strong! They are brave!
They are the best of the knaves!
A cool poem, but what happened to the put down for the trolls?

It wasnt me who said that it was shroud9 although I agree :D

p.s. couldn't the vikings be considered evil? I mean they spent their time pillaging innocent villages. if so they are in 2nd place because of their awesome dragons.
