Yes, and I think that's completely fair: people voted for them because people have confidence in their ability to run these things. The best reason to vote for someone, in my opinion.
So anyone who wins the vote, by having shown that they are able to run things, is the rightful winner by my view.

Totally agree, everyone knows they will do a good job, so why not vote for them?

Ah yes but my point is they are already on the kings council and now they have all the other positions as well. It like electing a government and then the prime minister then takes on the position of minister of finance as well and the vice prime minister takes on the position of Minister for tourism too.

They now will hold all the positions in the game, it runs against the idea of people participating and everyone contributing when a few hold all the positions

Well, I understand not wanting to have "all the power" within a few individuals, but really there isn't that much "power" in these positions. It's just about keeping the project organized, looking good, and running smoothly now that the groundwork has been set up. :)
I don't think anyone would accuse me, Mark, wobnam, orks, or Teherean of steamrolling anyone, as I think we've tried to keep as much of this open for public comment as possible, and we'll continue to do so. With the exception of orks because nobody else has stepped up in his faction, Mark, Teherean and I were all nominated for FO without having to even throw our names out there. People decided on their own that they wanted us for these positions, and it makes sense, since we've already proven that we have the dedication, time, and skill to produce a good product and keep things organized.

It is good to have discussions about stuff like this, so I appreciate it being brought up. The main thing here is that this is going to be a lot of fun, so lets not get too tied up in the "politics" when we're right on the cusp of full-scale operations :)

Okay gentlemen, I am stepping in as the mod again.

I am getting very frustrated. I have given you a "gentle" reminder at the top of your forum so you would start to get the feel for how things run here at CC. I was being very nice about it. But now I think there are a few of you who are just blatantly ignoring some things.

SO I shall remind you once more and then I will start enforcing these things, which you really do not want to happen.

1) Keep your comments relevant to the thread you are posting in. Do not take it off topic, or I will lock that thread. And quite frankly, some of these threads are too important to be locked just because people are incapable of staying on topic.

2) Keep your comments to the ONE thread that it is about. It is just annoying to have to read the same arguments in multiple threads. Knock it off. Count this as your last warning.

3) If you have issues with someone take them to private messages. The forum is not a place to bicker and argue.

4) Let the staff do the moderating.

SO members of CC, I suggest you re-read the TOS. Because I will not be warning you again.

You say that a FL:
FACTION LIAISON (FL)
A Faction Liaison is an assistant to the FO. Faction Overseers can task their FLs with keeping track of scoring, hosting a challenge, or other related tasks.

Does this mean that they can't take part in contests, challenges or the like?
Also to go with the "peasant of _____" signature blocks, will there be ones for FO's and FL's because that way everyone knows who they are and who to ask for help or questions, or give suggestions to.

An FL will be allowed to participate in all contests, and will be eligible to win, provided they aren't taking a turn hosting that particular contest, or aren't going to be judging it. Also, Orks has made banners for you already. He'll post links to them shortly, I assume :)
Good questions!

Also, you should only display one or the other. Don't display your FO banner and your Peasant banner at the same time, for example :)

I have one quick question: Can I make a moc featuring people from Garheim being ambushed/figthing bandits/outlaws? And if I do include this, should I avoid using the Outlaw faction's official sigils? Or can I use them even if I belong to the Garheim faction?

The outlaws are the only faction that's openly at war with the other three at the moment, so yes, you may, and they can be carrying official sigils if you'd like.

What about border disputes and small raids? They happened all the time in the medieval period without any wars going on... I could imagine Garheim and Lenfald having border clashes every now and then.

It's important not to stereotype too much: Not every person in a faction is the same. There are some Lenfels who live by the King's laws, and there are some who don't. The important thing is to be true to your character. If your character is an honorable trader in service of the King, he won't attack a Garheim convoy. If he is a knight of questionable loyalty, he might.

I really like that way of putting it, Wobnam. It seems very reasonable and realistic to have these natural variations among the characters.

I'm glad to hear we are nearly ready to kick off! I hope to get my character challenge completed today or tomorrow, although I would need to see what the first challenge was to get a feel for whether I could enter or not (time is tight at the moment).

One question: can someone please explain what the official faction threads are for please? What sort of thing(s) are to be discussed in those? It's just that the one for Loreos is up already but I don't want to start polluting it until I know what is expected.
