A Pirate's Life: the Castle Lands

As some of you may know, I have a webcomic, know as A Pirate's Life, and yes it's about Pirates (Technically, merchants). The current story arch has them travelling through the Castle Lands, as the story implies. The recent discussions about stories made me realize my current arch was very much castle focused, so I am posting it here, to help satisfy any wanting you may have for castle stories.

Here is the link I missed a few days recently, but now I have a buffer again, good for a couple weeks. so I will be good for awhile.

Thoughts?

I like it!

The images are really well done (how did you do the rain?).

Most of them are funny - from chuckle to "lol" - heh heh. Some of the strips were confusing to me as well.

I really like the format of the website too - it made me open my own comic on the website! :tasty:

Pirate and Castle have always been my two favorite - I'll subscribe to yours~

Thanks for the kind words!

As for how I did the rain, it was simple. I googled something along the lines of "Rain making tool", and found this website. simple, effective, and works great.

I guess I'll have to check out yours, and maybe return the favour of subscribing.(doubtful, considering I have no idea how subscribing actually works)

No subscriptions required - I'm happy to have found the website so that can be your official payback :)

Besides, I really do like your strip so I'll be happy to be updated on the new releases!

What do you use for inspiration?

I always felt I could come up with a few funny ones only to lose "it" after awhile.

Inspiration? Now that's a loaded question. Most of my Inspiration generally comes from fiddling around with various bits of Lego I have. For example, a couple weekends ago, I had bought the Orc Forge and a Jedi starfighter. A couple of hours of fiddling around with them with siblings, I have a character born, and the current bit with the Urak-Hai will lead up to something to do with both sets, though it isn't much.

Really, I make it up as I go along. I don't plan ahead to far. Fluidity is great for comics. Another example, is I had no idea what is in the crate Edward and Ricks are transporting at first, though I have found something. Still have no idea how it's all going to end up.

I've been reading your comic and I like what you're doing. Yep, I've thought for sometime you should put a notice in here about it. Good stuff all the way around.

You story's great! I'm up to page 333 of the story where the "quick sprint" just got bombed. The marooned pirates are funny too. Everything's interesting, from the Christmas tournament, to the blacktron ship, or the bombing of the bull knights castle. I think I'm going to make one like it and post it on the Stories page on the Forum here. Real interesting, I don't think mine could be any better then this amazing story. Great job :D

P.S. I've already got some inspiration from fiddling with lego parts like you do. Works good. :D

Bye

In fact, I've already started. It's not complete yet, but it will be soon (or it will never end) so keep updated! Here's a link to the progressing webcomic:

That's not the only thing on my website either!
P.S. Are you still making yours?

A good start! Biggest suggestion I can offer right now, would be to acquire some simple coloured paper from your dollar store, to use for backdrops, Carpet isn't as convincing as water  Otherwise looking good!

and yes, I do plan on continuing APL, it's just on temporary hiatus, due to moving, busy work, and getting married in the summer. Just don't have any time at the moment.
