I think they will be in KK2:06. I can't wait! :D The game card for the sorceror makes him look like a shadowy figure with a low hood so you can't see his face.
I know they won't be in the 2006 sets if they're there at all. "Next Year's" sets stands for 2006 as 05 and 04 are out already. They may be in 2007 if this storyline goes on for that long.

I know that KK2 improved this second year, but 3-4 years? That might be a bit much for me. Considering that each knight does have their own castle, I suppose we could be seeing KK2 for a looong time. :?

It may be like Bionicle. I thought that the Toa would defeat Makua and be done. But then they keep draging the story further and further back in time. This is the fifth year I belive. If they can do it with Bionicle, then they can do it with KK2. KK2 has a lot more useful pieces than Bionicle too.

Yep, after reading about Bionicle (which I know little about), I agree with Venvorskar that LEGO will probally be going forward for now for a long time - looks like a current marketing/product development scheme they are running with these days. I wonder how far they will go?

On a side note, it might be kind of cool if they went back, younger Mathis, the sorceror and his gargoyles, and the rogue knights to boot.

I imagine that LEGO is going to use KK2 to introduce new Castle lines in the future. Sort of like how the Fright Knights were introduced, and the Dragon Masters.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Vladek and Jayko band together against a new evil power -- the Serpent Men, or some such.

It seems most probable that introducing new factions by making them friends or foes of existing factions is the smartest way to do it, and is most likely to keep fans buying.

I hope to see a more realistic castle story line for KK2:3. I think I've had enough fantasy castle for two years now.

That might actually be pretty cool - but only if there are serpent men (or orcs, goblins, etc 8) ) otherwise, I agree with Granynar...

Otherwise, we get another rehash of this years all-new armors, shields, etc. :?

Huh?
What confused you? Both the Fright Knights and Dragon Masters factions were introduced alongside factions that had already been out for some time. The Fright Knights were up against... King Leo.. I think. And if I recall the Dragon Masters went up against the Black Monarch, right? It's been a -long- time, and my memory is pretty fuzzy.

Otherwise, we get another rehash of this years all-new armors, shields, etc.
If I had my way, they'd go back to standard prints on the torsos (like scale or heraldry) with dark grey Euro armour and the original swords.

Although I admit I do like a lot of the newer stuff too. And at least the triangular shield is making a come-back. I'm not a big fan of the octagonal one.

King Leo was agaisnt the Bulls.

A Royal Knight figure appears in this set:

And a Forestman appears in this set:

So the Fright Knights could supposedly be agaisnt the Royal Knights and Forestmen.

Well what I meant was that the Fright Knights (and Bulls, which I'd forgotten about), and Dragon Masters factions were all released while you could still purchase -other- factions, which invariably tied the two factions together somehow.

I'm guessing that's how we'll see the next faction -- as opponents or add-ons to KK2.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a more fantasy-themed faction come out next. The Dungeon Masters and Fright Knights were definitely a lower-fantasy.. some Dragons.. a wizard, a witch.. dark towers.. that sort of thing.

Then we have the Jelly Bean Knights.. which are most certainly quite fantasy. And let's not forget the Fantasy Vikings line.

Could Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, and Minotaurs really be so far behind? I'd love to see the Castle line get split into Castle and Myth lines... with the Vikings as part of a myth line that could be followed up by a Mythic Greek theme, while the Jelly Beans meet the Dark Dwarves of the Caverns of Morcia.

That would almost be too good to be true. :-)

I like your idea of a castle/myth split, but I think it's going to be more of a general change in direction for both lines to fantasy, at least for a little while. Oh well... just my guess... that's probally what sells these days anyway.

If this all happened, I'd think I was dreaming. I is a very good idea, but the Lego Company makes what sells, so they need to see that this will be sucsesfull. I this comunity represents most Lego fans, then I'm sure we'll be seeing this soon.
