For all of you well read peoples who have read Ivanhoe post here.
I'll begin:
Ivanhoe is the very first historical fiction EVER! The prolouge consists of a letter to the Reverend Dryasdust. Scott tells how society has made history dull and dry as dust.
Anyhoo, it's a great story of knights and the like. My favorite character is Wamba. O man! he is so funny. Scott does a very good job of making Wamba a fool, but not in the mental sense. Itseems Wamba did more thinking than all of the characters combine. I also like the Black Knight. He is very cool at being black.
