Black Knights

What are the Black Knights? I apply them as renegades, but I want others opinions.
Please reply if you have an idea.

I think I told you what I though in chat, but here it goes again. The King of Yellow Castle (375) had 3 sons, first, the Lion son, who was to inherit the crown. second the Eagle son, who was to become lord over all the east/west coastal lands or something, while the Crusader got the most of the rest. Those two were within a month of eachother. A few years later, the queen had a third son, who was such a bad egg his clothes were black. He was also obsessed with destruction, and the King thought he was such a danger, that he only gave him a small protion of the crusader prince's land, up north in the mountains. Well, this didn't sit well, and eventually he expanded his kingdom bigger, and bigger, and bigger, until the next crusader lord (both the first son and 375 king are dead) realized and war brokeout. Stupidly enough, he had also expanded into falcon territory, and got the two larger kingdoms both fighting him at once. A man named Majisto, a middle aged sorceror, was seeking political asylum from the crusaders. he had once been the apprentice of 375 kings court magician, but the crusaders weren't approving of magic, as of other things. so the black knight emperor welcomed him in asylum on one condition, if he could create a super army to repel the lions and eagles/falcons. He did, the dragon masters, and who, after winning the war and leaving the black lord with a little more land, split off from the black knights, who then, with their enemies in fear, expanded to to other lands.

This is inspired by someone who had their own version of the LEGO castle saga, just tweaked a little. I in no way claim this story to be mine, though i cant remeber where it came from. So sorry to someone, somewhere. But I do like your grasp on it.

The Black Knights are the toughest faction in all Legodom. I mean their soldiers (scalemail and chainmail) were even used by the Royal Knights. Even the Bulls and King Leo's men were so inspired by those armors that they copied it! 8)

They're so tough that I decided to use them to play the part of the most powerful faction in my Ancients Theme, the Kahilawayans.

Lego faction wise, I think they are meant to be good guys, but with a dark side. Kinda like Batman.

Alas, there is little to the Black Knights beyond a name. I've got hordes of guys with classic scale and breastplate - but they could be from any number of factions. How do i know they are really Black Knights?

You are right. Some of the so called "Black Knights" seem to be Black Falcons....

I always considered that ship as part of the black knight's. The fact that it included a single BF shield don't make the set BF (and definitely not crusaders as written in Lugnet). They were BF shields in the GI and in 6041 - Armor Shop (and even a BF knight in both of them), it didn't make any of them belongs to the BF theme. TLC gave shields as much as needed in each set to balance the supply of available shields for each theme. For example if 6059 had a new blue BF shield in 1990 it was balanced by a yellow one from 6018. The minifigs and the ship are not BF at all.

Black Knights? Or Red Dragon Soldiers...

Postby Pacificus » Wed Mar 24, 2004 10:32 pm

When my Dark Age ended a couple of years ago, I reorganized my factions so that the Lions and the Dragons were more-or-less equal in number. Archers aside, my Black Knight footsoldiers wore red scalemail and red pants/black thighs. They are aligned with the Black Monarch by holding the Dragon shield. The blue scalemail footsoldiers defected to the Lion Kingdom and currently carry blue Crusader shields. The original Crusaders carry yellow shields.

Throughout my childhood Golden Age and my current AFOL Age, the Dragons always leaned toward the Dark Side. The Dark Lord (and associated monsters) always dwelt in Black Monarch's Castle. Right now, a not-as-evil Duke and Duchess reside in the Knight's Stronghold, under the banner of the Dragon. Well, enough about me.

By the way, Kaloo's adaptation of LEGO Castle history was outstanding!
