CCRP- is there a FAQ?

Post by Invaderjes »

Hey all. I've been browsing the ccrp threads a little... but I'm not sure I quite get what to do. Do we have a faq that I'm not finding? Anyone wanna give me a quick CCRP for N00bs rundown?
Do we have info on factions and stuff? (attitudes towards other factions, alliances, general member alignment, that sort of thing)
I'm from a D&D background and our DM is strict on that sort of thing, so I just wanna make sure I know what I'm doing.

Here's the game as I understand it:
1) create your character
2) build him and photograph him from every angle with all his equipment (optional rule for crazy completeists like me XD)
3) post where you are and what your doing in the game thread and others react and you go from there.

Is that about right? Am I way off?

You have it down, and you don't have to take pics, some use BrickLink catelugue (sp?) to show what parts we use. Oh, and I suppose this could be used as the FAQ.

Is gunpowder and sailing ships (with cannons) allowed?

I dont think so that is what I remember from the beginnig. Try one of the older discussion threads like the first one I think we talked about that.

Are there any pictures of castles, landmarks and places of interest built out of bricks, that are related to the game? While I find the RP entertaining, I think that actual mocs to go with the game would add a whole new realm of fun to the RP...

I'm planning on re-enacting some of the major events, like Edmund's Charge, Argone's fight, the battle of Drer, but these are large scale and need time... But I'm sure we could pull something together...

Ok, no guns or cannons, but what about magic? Cloaks of invisibility or flaming swords...are things like these permitted?

Within reason, yes.

ex: My character has a sword that can locate treasure. Acceptable

ex: My character has a sword that can cut through anything. Not acceptable

ex: My character has armor that can withstand any and all attacks. Not acceptable.

Essentially, if your equipment is invincible or all powerful, it is a no no. If it has some nifty and useful abilities that can be foiled or tricked, fine.

Thank you for the response...I was actually hoping that magic would be acceptable, as long as it is not excessive or far-fetched...

From what I have read dragons are acceptable, but what about other monsters? I have built a lot of the classic monsters, trolls, giants, lizardmen and stuff, can they be used in the RP or is it strictly limited to official monsters, like the new trolls and undead figures?

Official monsters is what I have heard, though I am against having Dragons as characters. I think it gives the person to much power.

Edit: I have a troll, though it is the pet of one of my characters

Well... Brick-built as in your ones? I don't mind them personally, I think they would had a nice twist to the story. I'm sure the others will agree. I think matt thinks that you are talking about the trolls that TLC company is making.
