Hey All,

I haven't gotten any of the Lego board games yet, but I'm curious. For those of you who have them, are you keeping them as games or cannibalizing them for the parts?

Josh

The latter. It defeats the purpose I know, but I figure if I want to play a boardgame i'll go play one instead of building one first.

I don't have any but if I did, I would cannibalize it for the parts unless the game is awesome.

I plan on getting that monster one solely for the heads. If the game is good, I can easily swap in some standard heads to play the game.

I was intrested in magicus for the wands because we have not seen those glow wands since the last time hubble bubble appeared in the fright knight sets. :)

I am considering getting multiples of some of them for minifig-filler-uppers for my upcoming Largest MOC Yet. :sly:

I am doing both. I have several games which I have two copies of. I LOVE playing them. I always lose, but that's because I play with my nephews and for me it is more about the fun of playing with them..than winning. Some...like the new Harry Potter one..I bought for the parts a second time. Hey..there is a yellow frog and a dark brown kitten..not to mention the new tan parts..etc..in it.

As games are concerned...the directions aren't always really clear..but that's part of the joy..you make it your own. Twist the rules...define them different. Make it more fun. My nephews..would like Shave a Sheep to be full body contact..as if...I let them scream, roar, and yell while we play it...as long as I have headphones on. We have a great time.

Hmm, as parts packs they do feel like they're a bit more expensive as a normal set would/should be when you look at the parts spread out in front of you. Monster4 is actually a pretty good set for parts, mostly because of the exclusive minifig heads but it also has large green plates and lots of nice parts in light and dark grey. I'm pretty sure the difference in price is because of the two booklets and the very special die. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the die is the most expensive piece that they produce.

I bought monster 4 and played it sometime, then I decided to use the great pieces.
I really like the heads and the plates out of it are nice too, I haven't got many of them.

Both.

I only have two of the games so far, and around four more I want to get, but I mainly bought the games on how their parts looked anyway. Sure the games are pretty fun, but the heads from Monster 4 are sweet, and Magikus has some pretty cool trinkets. :) I'm keeping the games intact right now, beacuse my siblings and I play with them, but when I get older, totally going to be scrapped for parts. :tasty:

I have minotaurus and it's not bad but LEGO games aren't that great. They are useful for parts though, and have a lot of similar parts-if my brother lets me I'll probably dismantle it for the lime green walls.

I'd say they are for , "cannibalizing". Nice word choice btw. I would think as, has maybe already been mentioned, you could swap in more common pieces for the rarer ones you wish to obtain by buying the set, if you really wanted to play the game.

Just have 1 - Creationary - and used it over the holiday as a board game.

It's a bit pricey just to use for parts and there's no special parts from the set....

Parts pack. Two of the three games I have boughten were for parts, and the third was because i wanted the microfigs. They were definitly a bit pricier then normal, but still worth it.
