I also agree that the two said factions should remain closed for a while. And I still say that if all the guys that posted cics recently built a free build or something it would really help out. Cics are great, and there have been some really cool ones (lol mine was extremely simple) but I dont think it really counts as being active. Heck some guys just post a pic of a fig holding a flag and then disappear for a month. By my definition that is not active.

I think active should be decided by a build within 3 months (maybe four) or a post within the last one or two months.

Needless to say, if someone has not been active for a while, but they decide to come back later on, they can play some more and will be added to the "active" list, so being active just decides the number of active members in a faction, nothing more. I also think that we should have two lists on the main post of the sign up thread, and each faction thread: a list of total members, and a list of active members.
I completely agree. Barring some extraordinary events happening, it is not hard for somebody to post one comment every two months. Even if somebody couldn't do it, all they have to do to become active again is to post a freebuild.

Six months is just too long of a timeframe for someone to be away and still be considered "active".

I concur, six months seems too long to count someone as active. I think 2, maybe 3, months is a good length of time to gauge if they're active or not. It's a little more realistic and I assume there won't be a penalty for becoming inactive so it's not like it'll hurt anyone.

One of the most frustrating things about being an Outlaw, besides begin hated by the rest of Rowia :P, is that we have all these great builders that drift in and out of begin active. I understand people have social lives, jobs, and or want to build other themes. That's cool. I've gone a couple months without building anything LCC related before. But please, stay for a while if/when you do decide to build.

I think 2-3 months without a build or post should get you put on the inactive list, it all depends on the circumstances. If you know you will be unable to build for a while, make a post about it. Tell us when you expect to be able to build again.

Anyway, that's just me.

That's a good idea. That way people could have some idea about why they're not posting any builds.
I also agree with quite a few other people, around 3 months is a good timeframe to judge whether someone is active or not.

LCC - Engraved Bricks
Image
Brick Badge Bricks by floodllama, on Flickr

Is anyone interested in engraved 1x8 bricks (like the ones you see people getting from conventions), for the LCC Project?

I'm proposing:

Yellow 1x8 bricks with "Lands of Classic Castle" engraved in black lettering
Blue with "LCC - Garheim" in silver lettering (or white, if silver not available)
Red with "LCC - Loreos" in gold lettering (I've been told this is an option. Would use yellow, if not)
Green with "LCC - Lenfald" in yellow lettering
Black with "LCC - Outlaws" in red lettering

The cost for these would be about $1.50 each (cost for bricks and engraving) + shipping.

If people are interested, then I need to know ASAP so that I can get the bricks ordered and sent to the supplier along with the rest of my group.

Can you tell me who the supplier is? Because I am certainly interested, but I don't really have money right now.
Thanks

It's the same guy who does all of the bricks for BrickCon. This is a somewhat "one time" opportunity that we are being given to "piggyback" with the BrickCon engraving order. I wouldn't need money until the bricks are ready to be sent, so you'll have plenty of time to save up $3-$5 :D

If you decide you are interested, please include how many of which brick you'd like, so I can get a tally going.

I'm also open to suggestions for the "Lands of Classic Castle" brick. I chose yellow because it's a color that is available pretty easily, and it's not one of the "base colors" for the 4 factions. We also could do white with blue letters and you could put a red plate above/below that to be more in line with the classic-castle.com color scheme though. I'm open to suggestions.

I would like the Garheim badge. I might want the main LCC badge, but I will have to get back to you. :)

Alright, you got me hooked :D I would like 1 garheim, 1 lenfald, and I'm thinking about getting a LCC one as well.
Hmm, maybe the LCC brick could be yellow with the lettering being the faction colors? Or we could go with aligning with the C-C color scheme, I personally am open to really anything for the LCC brick.

'EDIT. I changed my mind on the lenfald one, I would just like 1 Garheim, and 1 LCC

I am definitely interested. I would like one Garheim and one LCC.
You would rather be building right now.

Sounds like a plan AK! I'd (obviously) like one Outlaws and one LCC. Gotta represent this fine group somehow, eh? :)

Thank you AK! It seems (even since I've joined) that publicity for the LCC has really grown. These engraved bricks will certainly add to that I think!
I realize you may not be able to answer this, and that is fine.
How long do people have to place their order with you for engraved bricks?

I will order the bricks tomorrow, so that will be the deadline, because I am having them shipped directly to my LUG's order coordinator.

I think that these bricks will be a great way to "advertise" the program, not only by using them as part of your brick-built badge at conventions, but also by embedding them into the bases of your MOCs!

I'd like to do a whole LCC-themed layout for BrickCon sometime, complete with printed materials such as the logo and map, with maybe some fliers to hand out, but I don't have time for it this year. Maybe that will be my big project for next year :)
