My map for consideration. The three factions are the mountains, forests and swamp. Please let me know what you think.

Koffiemoc,
I set it up so the woodland and grasslands are combines, as are the swamps, dark forest and island and then the mountains and frozen north. I thought we could only do three factions. If I misread it then I'll gladly adapt it to include the others.

- All factions should have access to the sea.

legokilt and shmails, both look like very usable entries. Thanks for your submissions! We've been having a lot of discussion among the "planning group", and we may tweak minor things like where borders are located once the draft is chosen. These two look like they're set up quite nicely :)

Here's mine:

This being a draft, I haven't added smaller elements like rivers, lakes etc. except for where they play a part in the faction terrain.

Blue (mountains) - mostly mountainous terrain, a bit of forest in the bay to the west.

Red (grasslands/desert) - fertile soil around the big river, otherwise grasslands and desert (the ///s). To the west is a large peninsula with a volcano.

Green (forest/foothills) - a large forest surrounding a giant lake, foothills to the east leading up to a rocky area towards the coast.

Gold, rebels/magic - an Island with varied terrain. I didn't include their mainland location, but it can be added various places.

I think this is close to being done. I may edit a few minor things, but I am happy with the basic look and feel:
