Re: LCC General Information and FAQ

Since we have no name for the official capital and the island with the King's Council, maybe this could be an idea for the next global challenge... something in the line of build a meeting of all the factions on the island 'invent-name-here' in the city of 'city-name-here' diskussing current events (outlaw campaign, outlaw retaliation, Lenfald succession crisis, ...)

On another note, I don't know whether this would be better placed in the LCC discussion thread, but I honestly can't see a difference between this thread and the other one (in terms of discussion I mean, this thread clearly acts as a FAQ and INFO thread, but there's a lot of discussion going on here as well): viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21579&start=465

Yeah this one should mainly be used for questions about specific existing LCC rules/guidelines, whereas the other "discussion" forum should be used to talk about future ideas, suggestions, etc.

Sorry if the line is a bit blurry. I'll try to do a better job of steering people toward the correct forum. :)

It might be a good idea to state on the first page that this thread is only for discussion concerning the info in the first post, and that the general discussion belongs into the discussion thread (and it would really help if the other thread was 'stickied' too)

:? Okay, I'm rather new to this.... Okay, VERY new to this... I was wondering, what challenges do I post in? The new ones, or the very first ones and work my way up? I'm an outlaw BTW.

You only enter in challenges that are running right now. Maybe there's an outlaw LC you can enter in. If there was a GC, trust me. You'd know. ;)

Hope that answers your question!

No worries on being new, you will get the hang of it. Welcome to the Outlaws, btw!

Since you have completed your CIC you can join any Outlaw Local Challenges. One just ended and I'm sure there will be another one soon. Whenever the next Global Challenge takes place you can enter that. I'm new to LCC as well and I can't wait for the next GC since I haven't participated in one yet. Also, once you reach 15 points, you can join up to two guilds and would be allowed two builds per month per guild. Lastly you are allowed two free builds (for points) each month. Of course you can build all you want beyond that, you just don't get points.

Why don't you try a free build and see what you can do with your character? Read up on some of the lore and examine the maps and go inflict some outlawry on some honest citizen! My character is roaming about in Lenfald right now, killing knights at random. ;)

Build on,
Josh

I have just read through the first post again and noticed that I have never heard of the GLOBAL STATUS POINTS again:
Global status points are applied to your faction as a result of member participation in global building challenges. This scoring is used to build up your faction's status in Roawia.
Is this concept still valid? How are (or would) these scores be calculated and what are the consequences?

I believe they are used to show which faction is "winning". They are listed in the second post of the signup thread.

Thanks, I wouldn't have found that ... I wonder if there would be a better place for them, generally after signing up you wouldn't look at that thread anymore...

I agree. I'm thinking the General Info thread might be better.

Dear Guys in Charge, what do you think?

Yes, I believe I've lobbied for it to be posted somewhere else as well that's more obvious.

Since I'm such a great Faction Overseer, I've actually had the global scores as part of the Garhiem thread for months now. Maybe you all can lobby for your FO's to follow suit. 8)

Hello, everyone. I have always admired LCC from a far. I think it's great because it's really drawn in a lot of new members to the Classic-Castle community and engages them in building regularly. Kudos to everyone involved, you guys do a great job. I do have a question though.

I'm aware that their is a mage's guild, and a lot of builders put orks and other things into their MOCs, but how mystically fantastic is the universe? What I mean is, how common is the ability to wield magic and what creatures live in the land (Minotaurs, Dragons, Zombies, Vampires, etc.)? How far could I go to make a character? Or is this typically done by the individual as they expand their own scope of Roawia?

Just an outsider looking in.

P.S. By the way, I wasn't really sure if this should go in discussion or info/FAQ, but since this is a question, I figured it should go here. :)

Magic is allowed in the LCC project, but magic is generally frowned upon by law abiding citizens of Roawia, so your character would either need to be an outlaw, or keep their magical powers a secret.
