It certainly wasn't meant to be a race. We'll discuss, but I imagine at this early stage with a long list of people waiting to join, we'll probably allow you to post in the sign-up thread which faction you want to join, and then your intro MOC can come later, probably with a deadline of within a few days of your initial sign-up post. Does that seem equitable?

I am OK with whatever the rules are, I was just trying to cut off a possible pain point for someone (maybe me) early in the process. :)

No, but there will be some guidelines for content.

Do the flags have to be the actual flag pieces or can we be more creative? I'd prefer creative.
And will their be a topic to apply to be FO, FL and guild masters? or is it decided by the powers above?

I was thinking that we could allow other types of flags if you have them in the appropriate colors. For example, you could use 2x2 clip-on flags instead.

What I mean is more brick built flags, like banners with, not flags hanging down but studs or bricks?
Hows that?

I think it would be very practical if we limited the amount of threads each person can make to showcase MOCs. There could be one thread where you post all your free builds, one for each challenge and one for each guild. I think the forum would get flooded and hard to navigate otherwise. Or we could use some sort of index system like eurobricks uses, but I personally prefer limited threads.

@Hayden, I don't see why not.
@DNL, I think what we're going to ask people to do is post a thumbnail of their MOC in their faction thread that links to their MOC in the MOC's thread. That way, there is only 1 thread per MOC, but also you can just skim thru your faction's thread to see what's being built as well.
Naming convention is LCC - Faction - MOC name.
If you are building for a LCC competition, we'll assign the competition a code to distinguish it from free builds. Something like, "LCC-Faction-GC1 MOC name" for "Global Contest #1" for example.

Then there should be a faction thread for just MOCs, or the MOCs would get lost in the conversations. And what about guild MOCs?

The only problem, DNL, is that we're sharing the stories forum with other people at the moment. We can't have 4 faction threads, an info thread, a signup thread, an intro challenge thread, a guild thread, and 5 faction/guild MOC threads.

By posting a thumbnail w/ link to your faction's page, the FO can easily scan thru and pick up the MOCs for scoring purposes, and people can either find the MOC there, or by looking thru the main CC MOC forum. We want LCC MOCs to be posted in the main forum to increase the exposure of the project, and also just so the general CC population can enjoy what we're building.

Guild builds will be similar. How to post has been laid out in the Guild Hall thread.

Does that make sense? I'm not trying to steamroll you or anything :tasty: , just sharing my reasons for coming up with that system.

FAQ UPDATED:

DO BANNERS HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC COLORS?
Yes, your banners should be the exact color(s) listed for each faction. The primary colors have been selected because they are or recently have been available in sets and are inexpensive on BrickLink. (Note: The inclusion of the secondary color is optional). For a list of available colors, see 4495 Flag 4 x 1 Wave.

DO BANNERS HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC PIECES?
No. The standard banners use 4495 Flag 4 x 1 Wave, but other flags or brick-built banners are also acceptable as long as they are the correct colors.

Free builds: Posted in your faction thread.

Guild builds: Posted in the guild thread.

Contest/challenge builds: Posted in the relevant contest/challenge thread.

All creations belonging to a faction should also be listed in the top post of the faction thread for easy navigation. This is the FO's task.
