Tybalt is the 20 year old son of Wulf Fishby, a fisherman from the eastern shores of Lenfald. Living a nomadic life along the shoreline, Tybalt and his dad got familiar with both the woods and the mountains around it.

Tybalt loved his dad, but hated the nomadic life. They wouldn't stay at one place longer then 6 months, either because the fishing went bad, or because Wulf couldn't keep his drunken hands of the maried ladies.
About 5 years ago, Tybalt stumbled upon his dad, sleeping off his hangover in the inn. Wulf was half-naked, drenched in ale and lying in his own vomit. After Tybalt woke him and cleaned him up, they made haste to leave the settlement. Because this time it was for real.
Wulf apparently had a good night with the misses of the local sherrif. Daylight was breaking, but the enviroment was lit up by torches instead and the soft song of the early morning birds got overwhelmed by the sound of an angry mob.
Tybalt hurried to get his dad up, but he couldn't. Wulf was still too drunk. "Come on dad, get the megablocks up!!" Wulf replied with a mumble.
"DAD ! Get up, they're gonna hang you. Come !"
Wulfs mumble got clearer: "Rrrrun boy, I'll fight them off. Shhhave yourshelfsh."
"No, I won't lea.."
Wulf put his hand over Tybalts mouth. "GO !"
Wulf stumbled up on his feet and swaggered to the door.
"DAD, NOOOO. We can do this."
As Wulf opened the door to give him self up, an arrow hit him in the head. Tybalt wanted to run to his dad when he heared : "Get the boy, he's no better then his drunk old dad."
Tybalt fled out the window and into the woods he knows best. After a 2 days chase, he managed to lead his chasers onto a wrong trail.
Over the years he lived in the woods and mountains, holding a grudge against everyone who was involved in the killing of his dad. He grew stronger and bigger then before, driven by the hatred inside him.
From wandering strangers and traveling merchants he got word that the sherrif retired and was running a thriving business. He came up with a plan.
"I'm not just gonna kill him. I'll kill his spirit, his soul. I'll drive him out of business, take all his gold, pence by pence. Even if it'll take twenty years, I'll make sure he dies poor. No .. I'll make sure he lives poor !"
A manic cackle sounded through the foothills.
"Muhahahahhahahahahihihahaihiahahahah"

2 years have past. Tybalt worked himself up through merchant and hunting skills. Instead of a deranged and hate-baring ogrelike being, he now is a neatly cut, well tought, driven merchant. Driven to get back.
And that's where we pick up his story.

Huron the Despoiler

Centuries ago, Conrad Huron was a wise and powerful mage in Lenfald, with unfaltering loyalty to his land and its people, but a growing despise of its rulers and politicians.

Image

Image

With his undeniable involvement in Lenfel politics, he was able to postpone the factionwide banning of magic for several decades, but as the Lenfel people became more and more scared and skeptical of magic, Huron’s fight became more and more difficult, and his influence on Lenfald’s rulers waned over the years.
By the time magic was finally outlawed and Huron was banned from his homeland, his resentment for everything that Lenfald was had turned to pure hate. When word reached him that the other major factions took the same decision regarding magic, his growing hate against the whole world was sensed by a mysterious demon known as the Nightbringer.

Image

The Nightbringer granted Huron an unnaturally long life, and untold power, in exchange for his continued bloodshed against Roawia’s major factions, which in turn feeds the demon.

Image

He is now known to the people of Roawia as Huron the Despoiler, and even though he stays hidden most of the time, his reputation is growing. He is rumored to be responsible for the massive Orc incursion that hit the Crown Knights’ kingdom a few years ago, and some even say that the Knights Kingdom II Jelly Bean Knights were his idea.

Mitah Val Karem

Mitah Val Karem, Lord of the small City of Karemdhâron and the surrounding lands

Image
Lord Mitah Val Karem

Geography of Karemdhâron:

Karemdhâron lies on the north-eastern edge of the Wandering Woods at the foot of the small mountain and just off a small road that circles the eastern forest. It is only a short trip north to the sea where a small settlement with a small harbour for fishermen is located.

Background History:

The clan of the Karem founded the city just a few generations ago on the edge of the forest. Initially only a small settlement for lumbering operations, the Karem became skilled fighters and hunters after repeated attacks of creatures and animals from the Wandering Woods. Soon after settling they made contact with the elven Clan of Val, living primarily within the bounds of the forest separated and undisturbed from the rule of the King's Council and the rulers of Lenfald.

During a harsh winter with gruesome animal attacks on both the Karem and the Val, the Val left the forest and together with the Karem fortified the city of Karemdhâron. From this time on the city was under shared rule and the Clan of Val Karem formed.

Current Rule:

Mitah Val Karem rules the the lands with Wife Caorin Val, with the Hunter's Hall being the seat of power. Living on the edge of the dangerous forest, he set up the City Watch to protect the city by day and as a standing army with some cavalry, and the Night Watch consisting primarily of elven descendants to protect the city and surrounding lands, with a small Hunter detachment to venture into the forest and patrol it's borders.

Local Customs:

Fighting mainly in the mountains and the forest, the Val Karem developed specialized weapons suiting their needs. In addition to their trusted bows the Hunters primarily use curved swords and axes to move quickly through the forest, whereas the City Watch uses a form of halberd/battle-axe combination for fighting in the confines of the city and the forest.

Every now and then creatures from the Wandering Woods and invaders from the seas attack the lands, and the severed heads of those who failed with their attacks are shown on spikes along the outer wall of the city near the western Forest Gate.

Faction: Loreos

Character Name: Sir Faulenhart the Wild

Image
Faulenhart at the Gates of Rest by wooddogsam, on Flickr

Sir Faulenhart was in actuality born to a peasant couple in Garheim. In the first few years of his life he saw both his parents taken from him. His father, when Faulenhart was only 4 years old, was struck dead by bandits who had come to raid the village. When Faulenhart's father, Jon, defied Theiss, the bandit leader and refused to give up his only son, Theiss laughed and put a crossbow bolt through Jon's head. He did honor Jon's request, however, and left Faulenhart with his mother. After the loss of his father, Faulenhart began to train as a warrior. He was a natural when it came to horses, and he performed better than any other boy his age with a pike. His mother was proud to know her son would be able to protect his community if trouble came again. What Faulenhart could not protect his family and friends from, however, was disease.

While Faulenhart was away from home guarding a trade caravan, plague swept over his small village and left everyone dead within just a week. Faulenhart was only 14 years old at the time he lost his mother, friends, and all sense of who he was. Determined to grow from his experiences and ashamed to stay within Garheim, he took the only things he had left of his father - a helmet from his grandfather's father that he wouldn't be able to wear effectively for years, and a breastplate from his uncle, who had been as much of a second father to Faulenhart as he could have ever asked for. With these artifacts from his former life in hand, Faulenhart left Garheim forever and traveled until he felt there would be no more suffering. When he stopped, he was at the entrance of a grand home outside in the middle of the desert that defines Loreos. It was here where he met his first and only love.

Faulenhart's troubles did not end here. Over the next few years he would pledge his loyalty to a lord that sought to kill him, for he was a foreigner and not at all able to hide his feelings for Lord Nazhun's daughter Sofya. When Faulenhart kept coming back from these suicide assaults on numerous tribes of raiders, Lord Nazhun was forced to elevate him to a high seat his military due to popular demand. Nazhun, however, was not going to allow his daughter to wed the outsider. Nazhun quickly sent Sofya away, pledged her to another man in her absence, and made pacts with beings better left unspoken. Lord Nazhun sent Sir Faulenhart on another assault - this one staged by mercenaries. Faulenhart's luck in battle had run out. Sofya was far away from the fortress and Faulenhart lay wounded in the desert sun. His horse was dead, and he rested against it as the heat continued to beat against his bloodstained skin. It was here, in this spot, that Faulenhart began to laugh. Drawing power from the misery of his suffering, he made his destiny become reality. A trading caravan from Garheim managed to be making its way past him and the irony gave him more strength still. Faulenhart was spotted, rescued, and arrived in the capital city of Dalmanathua. He recovered in a few weeks and returned back to Lord Nazhun only to find the paradise he once knew in ruins. Fire, from the looks of it, had ravaged the buildings and the sandstorms had all but covered the debris. Faulenhart's second family lost, he traveled back to Dalmanathua. It was here where he fell to his knees at the foot of the throne of Prince Jarius Lorean and pledged his loyalty. His only words were, "For the glory of Loreos."

Name: Kethean (which means Windrider), no surname known
Age: Somewhere at the age of 17
Faction: Lenfald
Habits: Loves hunting and fighting with his longbow, and inventing things to make life easier.
Abilities: He knows/senses when certain things are going to happen and where.
Weaknesses: 1 to 1 combat fighting, but luckily he doesn’t have to do this often, because of his deadly accuracy with the longbow. Can be quite rash and often gets into trouble because of that.

Image

Kethean:
His father was a travelling merchant trading in peat, as was normal in the village because peat was common there and the main reason the village existed in the first place. Consequently, his father travelled a lot.

Kethean has never known his mother. He knows that he was laid before his father's door a few days after he was born. His father told him that he once fell in love with the most beautiful elven maiden he'd ever seen in his whole live (the only one, to be precise). Luckily for him she fell in love with him too, but their love was not meant to be. She left him one night, quietly. For nine months there was no sign until he found this little boy by his door. That was the beginning of the Kethean's story.

The village were he lived with his father was called Elavia and was located into the woods of Lenfald somewhat close to the border of Lereos. But now, all that remains are ruins. The major of Elavia was no man of honour, he was in charge of most of the trades, but was also known to cheat. A couple of years ago he did bad business with a couple of Outlaw people as he had done before. But this time it went different: they came in the night with their torches and set fire to the peat located next to the village. The whole sky turned blood red. Only Kethean, his father, and three other villagers survived the attack. Because the town is now abandoned they renamed the ruins into Arragnos (which means something like 'day of ashes').

That very day was the first day Kethean first discovered his true origin. He had sensed the danger the day before and had urged his father to leave the village. Because Kethean almost turned mad from fear his father and his neighbours decided to pack their belongings and leave before dawn the same day.

With no home or business Kethean and his father fled trough the woods of Lenfald towards the capital. There Kethean's father made a new living, but Kethean, who had fallen in love with travelling, decided to serve his country instead. Driven by his old elven instinct he now roams the country on his way to important events to report to the High Lord Godfrey Wenseclaus II of Lenfald.

So this is why, if anything important is happening in whole Roawia, Lenfald is sure to know about it.

(...) to be continued

Ben Flarius, archer extraodanaire

Growing up in a forgotten region of Loreos, Ben Flarius had practiced his archery until perfection. At the age of 14 he won all archery competitions in the area. By the age of 17 he had assembled a group of warriors loyal to him to help defend his homeland. But when he was 20 years old he was captured by the Outlaws, and they tortured him nearly to death to try to gain information. They didn't succeed. Eventually Ben escaped back into Loreos where he loyally signed up to fight under the flag of Loreos! Some of his men are also here to help

Achmed was born in a poor family. They lived in a small house outside of the city. For surviving, Achmed had to steal...But he stole more than he needed and he sold something, so he got money. It began in his school: Every morning, he stole some fruits of the farmer and sold them in the break between the different lessons. He made a lot of money and could buy a lot of things...
Image
When he was 19 years old, he wanted to buy a camel, but this was so expensive. He didn't know how he should get money. So he went to the market and looked what the most expensive thing was: The wood of the Lenfels. So he rent a small fish cutter and sailed to the shore of the giant forest... But there were the Lenfels comming! They tried to shoot him, but they never hit him. He could sail away, back to Loreos.
Image
There on the market he sold this wood and got very rich. He began stealing other things, like silver of the Garhims, or wildlife of the forests... He sold pretty everything and got very famous in his village. So he had enough money to move to Dalmanutha. Now he's 36 years old and wanted by all countries but Loreos.
