LCC Loreos local challenge 9 part 2

With all supplies brought into the fort, and the wagons disassembled, Aldwir instructed the cavalry to scout in search of the bandits, hopefully to thin their ranks before they returned.

They filled the gap in the corner of the walls with the empty barrels and chests of the enemy, and stacked their fresh supplies as battlements.

Of ten riders, a lone man, horseless and bleeding, returned. His last words stilled the camp into a silent anxiousness. "They are coming."

With blood on their weapons, and alcohol on their breath, the bandits crashed upon the walls like a rising tide. Slowly they worked their way over the stacked chests and into the compound. Good men fell and bad men came through the ranks.

"Retreat to the tower!" Aldwir screamed as they kept coming on.

Clad in odds and ends, rusted and bloodied, the bandits clove through the inexperienced men of Loreos. Their fine armor and weapons melting away at the enemies resolve.

The desperate cries of those cut down were but a din compared to the sounds of clashing steel echoing within the wooden palisade. When it seemed there might be hope in their last bastion, a hidden door opened from behind and the enemy now surrounded them.

They fought on for what seemed like hours. Each kill brought them closer to victory, each death defeat. With only three of them left, they slew the last enemy.

Surveying the carnage around them, they began to feel their wounds. They wanted to scream and shout at the horror of what they'd done, they wanted to scream and cheer at their victory, but mostly, they wanted to lay and rest a while. The dead do not bury themselves.

Okay, I've been thinking its time, in this age of interfactional crisis, that we bring some more identity to ourselves.
We need to decide upon a faction currency, one that all members can mention, showing true loreesi strength. Maybe the Loreesi Mark or Loreesi Igot?
Also should we establish a state religion? Worshipping the sun gods? Or something else?
Should we accept The Order of Areani as the official loreesi special forces, or rather the Toberg Guard?
Also maybe, we should affirm our boarders and turn from a nation into a country? But to do that we'd need a functioning legal system, how should we set that up? Judged by the divine right of our nobles or by court?
Maybe we should declare independence from our so called king?

These are some things that have been previously discussed but never had a decisive outcome.

I encourage as much feedback as possible.

LCC, LC IX part II- Attacked!
After finishing constructing the tower, defenses, and boat dock, it was quiet for quite some time, that is until. . .
On the eight day, of the fourth moth of this year, after my companion and myself return from checking out the fortifications, we came back to find that we had been attacked by some wizards and their companions (Many of which are monsters of origins and kinds that I have never heard of nor seen…).
They had originally been journeying from the Magic Isles to the Outlaw territory south of Loreos, but a storm overtook their ship and they were crashed, which only the strongest survived, on the shores of Loreos close to Lenfel. Deciding that getting into Outlaw territory without being caught was impossible they decided to find the nearest outpost to attacked, which happened to be ours.

Bout the curreny, it was discussed some time ago but I don´t remember the outcome and what kind of suggestion there was but I remember that it was pretty good names for the currency. Loreesi special force, the order of Areani isn´t it Prince Jarius own personal bodyguard army and also the army that keeps the order in Loreos = Loreesi special force :D
"cough" There is always the Knights of Justice "cough" :D , the old special force of Roawia (ofcourse the ranks of the order have dramatically dropped over the years, now haveing only 8 true paladins to the order and sir Mencot missing after the Magic Isls disaster)
Religion: I couldn´t care any less, Sir Mencot worship nothing but the true God
We should claim our independence from the rest and Prince Jarius is most capable to rule Roawia
The knights order around the table, in the Hall of chivalry I think is a good way to keep hold of the law and order but it could be changed into court (because I don´t know who is apart of the Knights order around the table, it was a year ago I suggested that, we have more members now)

What about an army know as the Loreesi Tetrad made up of: The Knights of Justic (mencot), Knights of Calmonn (royalbrickcustoms), Order of Areani (Mark of Falworth), Toberg Guard (Bentoft) and Bear of Arrowford (Thomas Arrowford)

Each Order can be designated to protect a certain region of Loreos.

Don't forget, each city also has their own city guard and/or royal guard.

As far as the legal system I thing that if we have a sole ruler (like we do now), it should be any NPC.

Although technically 200 years ago (according to the timeline of Calmonn) the Kingdom of Calmonn stretched from just past Toberg all the way to the coast. Then again (Bentoft and I decided) that the Knights of Calmonn were the ones who built Toberg,in order to train citizens of Loreos in combat.

I don't think one single person's character should rule.

What do y'all think?

Re: LCC-Loreos Official Faction Thread. *NEW LOCAL CHALLENGE

Post by Thomas Arrowford »

Sorry long post, but I think Hayden raises an important question, not just for Loreos, but also the whole of LCC.

As a fan and player of the game my opinion would be that there should be as little restriction on the individual player as possible. For me the point of both Lego and the game is to be creative and the enjoyment is gained from building your own little world. In light of this I think two things are important.

1. We operate a feudal system of government (to some degree the outlaws are a little more anarchic)– this both fits in with the castle theme and is good as a game mechanism, as each character retains control of his/her own little piece of the world. By joining a faction we give our allegiance to a faction leader and them in turn to the King and his council and they act as a check and balance on the game.

2. There is no scale on the map of Roawia. At first I wanted to add some realism to my stories by being able to define distance and time, but actually it’s much better to be a bit vague about things. The most important reason being that then there’s anyways room for new players to join in. And room for existing players to grow as they move through the game.

Using myself as an example: I’ve carved out my own little area called Arrowford. I would like to create and describe this world and I would like it to slowly expand as I tell this story. In order to do that I don’t want my area defined any more than just ‘the region of Arrowford’ as this then leaves plenty of room for others to come and set up their own worlds next door and also have room to grow and expand as they want to. In return I agree to follow the general themes of the game and directions of the faction leaders and not to interfere directly in other’s games without talking to them first about whether my ideas are ok by them.
This idea of uss deciding as a faction what everyone must do keeps coming up, but I disagree that everyone in a faction has to all do the same and reach an agreement about how things are done. In fact if I’ve been following everyone’s stories correctly, I believe there is already at least one republic within Loreos. I think if you have an idea, adopt it in your own bit of Loreos and if other’s like it, maybe they will add it to their’s.

I think these things are important for the game to work and to continue to be interesting for everyone, including potential new members.
I am of cause open to others opinions and the game creator’s decisions. :)
