Thanks guys :) .

So, to the cries of 'Gamble' from the studio audience, I guess I'd better find out what Thomas wants to do with the sword.
My two freebuilds for this month...

Thomas & the Sword Part I
After the excitement of the sword hunt and the bustle of the market, Thomas was worn out when they finally got back to his Uncle's house. They laid out the sword and Gunnar compared it to the drawings he had amongst his papers.
'No doubt about it Thomas. This is the Sword of Karlamac, given to the King by the Gods themselves. It's said to have supernatural powers, imposing fear into the enemies of the wielder and lifting the spirits of their allies. The King has offered a handsome reward for this Thomas, but the funny thing is that it may be completely useless to him.'

'Why's that?' asked Thomas.

'Well it's said that the sword's powers come with a condition attached. The sword's powers will only work for someone, if it has been wilfully given to them by the previous owner. Now, the last owner was Nervig. He's the one that hid it. But the big question is this. Did Nervig intend to leave the sword to the finder, or did he never want it found?'
'If he did intend for it to be found, then you could wield the sword Thomas, and if you give it to the King then that power will transfer to him. But if Nervig did not want the sword to be found, then the sword's power is gone forever and it's just a pretty ornament.'

'Now we need some rest Thomas. I suggest as the sword's finder you should be the one to look after it. Take it with you and look after it well.'

Thomas took the sword into his bedroom and stashed it amongst his roll. He couldn't believe he was going to meet the King. The demands of the day soon caught up with him and he was soon asleep and dreaming of presenting the sword to the King...

Thomas & the Sword Part II
...Upon waking, Thomas headed straight over to his roll of possessions and drew the sword out. As he held it aloft in the soft morning light he thought of the legend his Uncle had told him.

This was the sword that Karlamac had used to lead his fiercely loyal army to rout many a larger army from the field. Thomas hadn't dared try the sword, as it's fragile-looking beauty seemed too risky to pit against steel. He didn't know if it was just the excitement of the legend, but he could have sworn he felt a tingling in his arm as he held the sword.

He slipped the sword back into his roll and headed down to breakfast.

...Thomas fully intends to present the sword to the King. However, the best of intentions are easily forgotten when fate forces our hand. Events will transpire which will cause Thomas to use the sword. So, Thomas will be taking the gamble, just not yet...
Let me know the result when you have it, and the die's bidding shall be done. :sly:

Thomas the overall winner has decided to take his chances and try to wield the sword for himself. A 6-sided die is rolled to determine the outcome.

If the roll is a 5 or a 6, Thomas will be able to use the sword’s power and will be awarded 10 points. If the roll is a 3 or a 4, the sword has lost its magic, and Thomas will be awarded 0 points. If the roll is a 1 or a 2, it means Thomas' greed has betrayed him, and the sword fails him at a key moment, resulting in a loss of 10 points.

The die has been cast...

The roll was a three!

Thomas, the sword holds no power for thee...

Too bad Thomas ... but the sword is yours! And if you called, Kellen Stout and the might of Stowburn will support the rightful owner of the sword!

@ Buurli ... those tan bricks, were they purchased via BL or did you get them via new sets. If they are new sets, I'm happy to take suggestions for which ones to pick up as I have a large lego collection, but my natural color(tans, browns, dark tans ...) selection is limited.

@ Mark. As far as new LC suggestions:
Since we don't know what to build, maybe we should MOC our characters traveling to Dalmunatha to discuss what to build next.
A Hildalgo style race across the desert ?
A spice caravan ?
Our favorite oasis ?
New recruits, or building up preparing for a military invasion ?

Just spit balling some ideas out there,
Don D
