One topic for all the entries (seeing as they'll probably be pretty short entries) seems like the best way to organize this to me. I'm also interested in how the jousts will play out... Maybe I should make my knight an 8 foot giant to make sure he wins :eyebrows:

Interesting...now I have another item to add to the list.

.....
1) Create CIC
2) Create Knight for Jousting (Champion of the 7th Brigade)

Oh, I've got another question: should I post my knights just here in this topic or shuld I make a topic in the MOCs section?
Please post your entries here. And If you want to you can post it in the MOC index as well.

When your entry is posted I will edit the challenge post, adding your entry knight there. So when the 15th comes around we'll begin the jousting. :)
Cuahchic wrote:Sounds interesting regarding the first challenge. Is it just going to be a dice rolling exercise or is the quality of the minifig the winning factor?
It will be completely the result of chance (a roll of the dice) for this Contest/Challenge. :) But other challenges in future will be judged by Me and Hayden.

Here is my knight entry for the Joust( hope this is something you had in mind :))
Sir Janek of Roseberg, the older brother of Sir Mencot ready to meet his opponents in the jousting tournament. The Roseberg family jousting legacy goes way back for generations in the history of Roawia, well know for being excellent horseman and their skills in jousting. So now Janek being the oldest will defend the honor of the family name and legacy.
Mounts his horse and says - I accept the challenge

Attention, Brave Knights of Loreos. The map of our great country needs "hammering out"
Image
these are the new requirements

Name of Capital City (location already shown)
Name/Location of 3 additional major cities.
Name/Location of 5-8 major landmarks/geographical features.

The Capitol City (yet to be named) Has been marked out in the delta region. A good spot IMO.
Any ideas/discussion about these new developments can be shared here. :) *Edit* Please feel free to leave a note on the flickr site and share opinions there. :)

Greetings again, fellow Loreesi brothers!
Here I come to show my 2 champions for the First Loreesi Jousting Competition!

First I would like to introduce Sir Loren D'Antiquo, a brave and spirited knight. He is 38 y-o, and had been in quite a few battles. His skill with the lance is impeccable and he represents an old House of Loreos.

Now, I would like to present you Sir Kevin Nealweiss, an incredible strong and valiant knight, age unknown, representing a recently formed Loreesi family. His skill with the lance is unknown too, but those who have seen it, didn't make it to tell the story.

And, to prove that the Jousting is a honored sport, a picture of both before the beggining of the games:

I hope one of them can be the last man standing!
Good luck to all of us!

Abou the map:

I agree with the capital city location, it's important to have a harbor.
Now it's a little late here in Brasil (it's about 1am) so tomorrow I'll come up with some ideas!

your jousting knights are great Pedro and good backstory but the faction and shield D'Antique uses is reserved for Kings council and committee. I don't think they will approve that.
Then to the map, yea a good place for the capital when it yes needs a harbour. Altough I am very bad on names here are some stupied suggestions :D, the capitol could be "Bayfalls" or "Groveside".
One major town could be "East Stowburn", located in the northeast "Idail Grassland" next to the big mountain.
Here is some backstory for the town:
"East Stowburn" a rich town located in the fertile grasslands and being next to the east sea is the home of the merchants and wealthy familys of Loreos. They have a rich agriculture and the second biggest harbour is located in Stowburn, so they have a great supply of riches from the sea and a way to import and export goods. But what has made Stowburn rich and famous is not fishing and farming (something that the people of Stowburn nowdays despise and look down on, saying it is work for the poor)no, the handcraft of goldobjects and gemcutters make the people of Stowburn proud. The gold and precious gem are found in the mines located in the near mountains to the north and this is the only place in Loreos where we can find mines.

What do you think, would it be ok with a town like this because minig was suppous to be something that Garheim do, but this could be the only mines of Loreos.

Great knights so far!

Seems like Sir Loren D'Antiquo is a close friend of the king - at least he wears the shield of the King's Council :-)

My knights are build - but I will not take pictures before I have some daylight.

About the map. Lets start to plot the stuff from our CIC and see if it will match or there are conflicts.

I have plotted Toberg school of warfare:

Second Joust knight entry:
Eduard (Plumsy) Fancy'caleqon. Not really a knight nor have the great skills of jousting but very eager to become a Sir Knight. His father is a wealthy goldsmith from East Stowburn but becoming a knight is something that daddys money can't buy nor good looks can get, so Eduard has to get his hands and gold armor dirty and enter the Jousting tournament and impress the Prince and the other lords. His nickname Plumsy comes from that he has way too many plums in his helmet and that he is a bit clumsy. :D but he is very popular among the ladies, why is a question.

I think it's fine Pedro! You can use it this time.

We just don't want people using that shield all the time. but using it once for a jousting knight is perfectly all right. :)

On the river just past the lake? Cool!

Sounds very interesting! and having the only mines in Loreos would make it a very important position.

Looks like a good spot! Close to lenfald too. :)

I have a few suggestions... for the Capitol I would call it "Dalmanutha" or "Capernum". just ideas.
