Re: LCC-Loreos Official Faction Thread. *VOTING HAS BEGUN!*
Great LC participation guys! Remember to PM Hayden. for your personal status points!
As to the recent discussion, some good ideas and points have been brought up, my thoughts are thus...
-Factional identity, I think we don't have to much trouble distinguishing ourselves from our counterparts, we're flamboyant and militaristic, we ride elephants to battle, we have the best cavalry in the world, we have the largest ships in the seas, we have the most creative architectural styles available to us and we're looking to rise in the faction ranks.
-Currency, this has been briefly discussed before, but to me it doesn't seem like a huge deal, Medieval merchants used many different currencies and I've always thought it best to leave it up to the individual, and allow lots of creativity.
All the names suggested can be used, (I would like to add the 'bezant' as a possible choice ) As I have yet to see any builds which prominently feature the currency of Loreos I think we can leave it pretty vague.
-Religion, this has been discussed in the general discussion thread, and the Kings Council has decided that as there are many different beliefs from many different members in LCC, it would be best to (again) leave it up to the individual, If you want to make a temple or church, go for it! We don't want to limit creativity. But nobody should be required to participate.
-Special forces/Knight orders, as we all should know, there are several knightly orders in LCC... many of them are in Loreos.
The duties of these Orders are varied, and what the Order does and doesn't do is up to the creator of the Order. Most of these are already operating as special forces and spies and I don't see the need for them to be made into official special forces of our faction.
Again, it's best left to the individual, if you want a special force next to your main army, go for it! But it shouldn't be necessary.
-Legal Systems, I don't really see the need for an official legal system, unless you were making a build showing your character participating in one. And in that case I would make one up that would fit into a medieval/feudal society. The less rules that take away creative possibilities the better, IMO.
-Rulership, Prince Jarius Lorean is the present ruler of Loreos, the position is hereditary, and his power is absolute. I control This "Non playable" character for the Kings Council, so that we can lead LCC itself to greatness!
-Revolting from present King, ........ Patience is a virtue.
For the Glory of Loreos!

I second everything Mark said.
Although, having a currency would be kinda cool. Maybe just a name for it?

Quick question.
With the gold piece, would that include lesser metals, like silver, copper, etc. or do we have to buy everything with gold?

The poll is just to see what kind of names people like, Marks now said we don't have a currency, which, to be honest, I disagree with, but he's FO.MasterMinifig wrote:Quick question.

The various under coinage is not really important enough to have a poll. We buy most things in gold, we are rich knights after all.

Re: LCC-Loreos Official Faction Thread. *VOTING HAS BEGUN!*
Interesting discussions going on! Since all I have been really doing is uploading entries I thought I'd give my view on whats been discussed and start to participate more...
I have to agree with Mark on a lot of what has been said regarding the topics of discussion. I feel like a universal currency of Loreos isn't really necessary but it would be cool to have so that there is a uniformity within everyone's builds. At least whenever actual money is being used- I know that most times traders and merchants use their wares and other objects to to obtain new things but as a merchant some currency would be nice to have too! So I think we should all vote on Hayden's poll of what we'd like for currency. Whether or not people need to conform to that is another discussion but like I said, it'd be cool to have.
Also, I think that the idea of having orders of Knights in Loreos is an awesome idea but I feel that it shouldn't go unchecked. I mean if a lot more people start introducing their own orders then we're going to have a ton of different bands of knights running around and it could kind of get chaotic in the sense that we would lose the nationalism of Loreos where many would be tied to their order first, then the nation. A suggestion for this could be to have a running list of the current orders and then have people apply to add new ones by doing a MOC or series of MOCs in order to add them to the list. And it would help for other people that want to include an order into their builds by taking from ones that are already there instead of making new ones, that way we'd keep some uniformity. Im not saying to make them into official orders/groups by making a list of them but just so they are there in case someone wants to add an order into their build(s) without trying to make a new one. For example, I would like to incorporate some in my upcoming builds but I only know of a few...
That leads me to a general question I have- Are there any rules or anything about incorporating someone else's area into a build? For example if I wanted to have my character travel to Bentoft's Toberg, is it common courtesy to ask permission to build on in someone's turf or is it a free thing to do? Because I think it would be kind of cool to tie in player's stories and territory with others but how that is done is another story. Would love to hear people's opinions on this (Oh and I was simply using Toberg as an example so no worries Bentoft!)
On the topics of religion and legal system- I think both of those are up for each individual player. This is still a medieval style era so those are player dependent I feel.
Anyway here is my opinion on it, not saying Im 100% right but I'd love to hear what other people have to say on this!

Yes, I think it is common courtesy to ask the other person if you would like to either involve their character, or something they have built, in something you want to build. I have recently sent the details of my next 2 builds to someone else to give them a chance to comment in case I intrude too much in what they are trying to do. I suppose its rather like going round someone else's house, you don't start re-decorating as soon as you get there.jman44 wrote: That leads me to a general question I have- Are there any rules or anything about incorporating someone else's area into a build? Having said that, it is nice to see interlinking of stories between characters, so it's good when co-operation can be achieved.
As to your other questions, I think our faction overseer Mark of Falworth has already answered them in his post above.

Hey everyone I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to participate in the last two contests/challenges! But I do have a free build.
John The Great, "We will stop here under these trees and rest Men!"
Soldiers, "Yes Sir!"
John, "Yursuff! What are you doing so far from your camel dealership?"
....
John The Great and his most loyal Soldiers are traveling along his lands that border Lenfald. Fortifying the small towns and plotting where to build watch towers. Also bashing any Outlaws that they come across.
