Unofficial timeline of the LCC - Era 1

Hey everyone!

As some of you might know, I've been working on a timeline of Roawia to go with the Lore of the LCC. I just completed the fist era. You can read it below and please tell me what you think! If you guys like it enough, maybe we can implement it into the Lore to become the official timeline or something like that.

I've tried to keep the timeline as general and up-to-date as possible, so aside from faction names, no official names of locations have been used. It's very general and undetailed, but I didn't want it to become too long. However: Locations for the lands obviously are not based on the current Map Drafts, as this timeline's creation predates that of the first official map drafts.

Please forgive any typo's and grammatical errors you might come across, English is not my native language. ;)

NOTE: THIS IS UNOFFICIAL!
Here it is:

Great Historical Timeline
of the
Kingdom of Roawia

Introduction

Greetings, Great son or daughter of Roawia! I am Grandmaster Gregory, Keeper of the Royal Archives of Roawia. Under official commission of the king, I have been asked to, based on old texts and tomes, compile a timeline of our great nations history. From our Founding Fathers to our current Lords, I have read it all and summarized the most significant events for you here!

As you probably well know, our history has been divided into three separate Era’s. In the first Era, Our Founding Fathers Founded the tree great factions that we know today. In the second era, the famous Roannian dynasty founded the Great Unity, and unified us under the Kingdom of Roawia. The third Era is the Era we are in now, and it’s history has yet to be fully completed, af course!
Now, without furder ado, let us begin our journey through the history of our great land!

The First Era

??? – 0
It is widely disputed how the first people of Roawia came to be. Some say they were once Elves, adapted by years of subtle morphing. Others say we are descendent of the Orcs, un-cursed by one of the Great Divines of old (this is widely accepted as truth amongst believers of the Old Faith). Others say that we were simply created by some kind of spirit, or that we evolved from the monkeys of the jungles of the Shadowy Land, though these theories are often seen as the most preposterous and are generally ridiculed.

1E122
This date comes from the oldest known writ in Roawia, The Scroll of Marksson found in an old vault in Garheim. It’s age is an estimate. It speaks of an old “tribe” of men, called the Mirrédéin who ruled most of the mountain valleys of Garheim and northern Lenfald at the time. It also speaks of Mirré, which was probably their name for Roawia at the time.

1E245
Erik Knudsson of Grohinn unites some other tribes under his rule, and according to old scrolls, founds the Kingdom of Grhimm. This kingdom is now Garheim. Garheim, thus, is the oldest kingdom of Roawia.

1E266
Laszlo Lenfellion “the Southern” of Grhimm marches south with his retainers and most of his serfs and freemen, displeased about the Knudsson dinasty’s rule. He founds his own kingdom in the northern forests of Lenfald, and calls it Lenfalen. oberjarl Enud Knudsson, “King” of Garheim, calls them rebels and assembles an army. He pursuits the dissenters, but was defeated at the Great Battle of Independence on Monday, April 12th of 1E267. This day is still celebrated by most Lenfels with a festival and a reenactment of the battle. After that, the Lenfel are left mostly alone.

1E301
Lenfalen, coping with enormous population growth as a result of favorable harvests, expands west and encounters the Western Steppes that lead to the deserts. It is here they first meet the Nomads of the Desert, whom most at that time feared as heathens and barbarians.

1E316
After several raids by the Nomads, Grhimm and Lenfalen sign an official peace treaty and Lenfalen is granted official independence from Grimm. The treaty also encompassed the assembly of a large combined army, called the Red Mission, mostly to avenge the blood of fallen Lenfallians and southern Ghrimmsmen, and to explore and spread civilization in the Deserts. To most commonfolk this mission was known as the Great Crusade, because the symbol of the first Red Missionaries was a simple red X. 100.000 men, clad in red, march west.

1E318 Lenfalen expands south, it now encompasses most of current Lenfald. It encounters the southern Marches, where Orcs still thrive to this day. Their advance was halted by the guerilla style tactics of these Orcs, and the Lenfallians retreated and “closed all expansionary missions to the Southern Marchlands, as no lucrative thing can be found here for our people.”

1e344
At the battle of Al-Waddhad, Great Emir Ezmi Wazir Al-Woull’in is defeated by the Red Missionaries, who capture his city and turn it into the capitol of the Missionary forces. Also in this year, old books first speak of Garheim instead of Ghrimm. Wether this was deliberate or just a linguistic accident is unknown, though we do know that the Knudsson dynasty still held the throne of Garheim at that time.

1E360
The last Nomad tribes submit to the Red Missionary Forces and settle down, marking the end of the Mission and the founding of the Missionary Lands. They are granted some independence, to ease the processes of government in the deserts. Also in this year: Books first mention Lenfald instead of Lenfalen. This was an official change, because the Lenfellion dynasty came to an end with the death of King John Lenfellion III The Sonless (natural causes).

1E375
Grandmaster Gregory Loreos “Lionhearted” First openly speaks about granting the Missionary Lands full independence from Lenfald and Garheim. Though he was mostly not supported by many of the members of his order, he soon became a hero to the people of the Missionary Lands, because they craved the independence they had known before the “Invasions” came. Gregory was known to be more tolerant to the older ways of the Nomadic people, and did not often wage war against Nomad lords who were misunderstood by his predecessors. In this year, a number of events lead to the founding of the kingdom Loreos:
- Gregory is expelled from the Council of Missionary Lords for continuing his pleas for independence. He flees the capitol and disappears for a while.
- Gregory returns after a few months, having united some of the lower Missionary Lords and their bands of soldiers, and the outer Nomad tribes. His army is suddenly 60.000 strong and strongly supports independence from Garheim and Lenfald. The council marches to meet him, and destroys half of Gregory’s army at the battle of Hidd’in.
- Dangerously dividing his army into small sections, Gregory manages to assemble his remaining loyals again, practically right outside the gates of the Missionary Capitol. His surprise maneuvers grant him almost full acces to the outer walls before defenses can be organized, and he takes the city after a two-hour battle. He renames the Missionary Lands “Loreos” and claims full independence from Garheim and Lenfald.
- Garheim and Lenfald try to assemble another great army together, called the Second Red Mission. Motivation is much lower than with the first Mission, and mostly mercenaries and professional soldiers of the armies of Garheim and Lenfald answer the call. The Second Red Mission barely makes 35.000 men. They still march on the capitol. Gregory was well prepared for them, and easily defeats the Missionary forces in the Siege of the Capitol on Tuesday March 2nd, 1E376 (still a national holiday for Loreos). The independence of Loreos became fact, and was signed with the blood of many Lenfel and Garhim.

1E399
An official peace treaty is signed, marking for most the end of the first era. Lenfald, Garheim and Loreos are, give or take a few smaller parts of land, the same as nowadays.

Thus Ends the First Era.

I like it, but it doesn't really seem to go with the Lore as written by Koffiemoc. The three brothers are not mentioned at all in there, and since we voted for the lore of Koffiemoc, I think it should be referenced. But the timeline is good and some really interesting points. Maybe you could rewrite a little bit so that after The Scroll of Marksson was written there was a King who united all of Roawia (king Roawan as written by Koffiemoc) and they lived in peace for a few decades until Alphundus came to reign and the Battle of the Brothers ensued. After that the nations fell apart.

Or is this all ancient history regarding our current Roawia? And will the Second Era begin when King Roawan conquers the three kingdoms? That would allow for your timeline to coincide with Koffiemocs lore. I do suggest you change the names of the kingdoms slightly though, so the names of the kingdoms will indeed be retracted from the names of the three brothers.

Just my thoughts about your timeline, and like I said I really like it, it has some interesting developments :D

The second Era indeed focusses around the joining of the three kingdoms under the Roawian banner. I still have to read Koffiemoc's lore, do you have a llnk to it because I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks a lot, I'll have a read and re-write this stuff. It's pretty old actually, from before the first map drafts.

Since the lands are named for the brothers, the names mentioned here should be different. Other than that, I like this story.

Good story Teherean, altough like many have pointed out something needs to be changed to fit with the original Roawia story. But you have something good going :D

In light of recent events (death of High Lord Wenseclaus, outlaw campaigns, Lenfald-Loreesi Pact), will there be an unofficial update to the timeline any time soon.

The timeline needs a major overhaul, if I recall correctly. It's just a matter of whether Teherean (or anyone else, for that matter) can come up with enough time to update it.

I really like it!
While it differs from the lore we voted for, a name change, and a second era will put that all straight!
Well done on a excellent job.

Yeah yeah... Seesh! ;)

Life's at it's busiest right now, with tests coming up. After that I have a whole week to work on a lore-friendly and complete version of the timeline. :D
