Hey all
Here is the first and only (that I know of) order of knights for Garheim
The Knights of Illyria
Backstory:
Sitting on a high plataeu, in the northern wastes of Garheim, lies the great city of Illyr, It’s dark blue flags flying high in the cold sunless sky. It was a great city, known for it’s high, curved darkstone walls, which encircled it all around, and the Great Library, where scholars from all over Rowia would come to study in it’s enormous halls. Although it’s walls were strong, they were not invincible to invaders.
One night, the High Lord, and Ruler of Illyr, Soren was in his palace when he heard the alarm.
"Riders coming from the East," one of the palace guards shouted in horror.
"That darn magic hating King doesn't give up so easily does he? Whatever you do, we can not let him find the crystals, or it will be the downfall of Illyr.
Send for the Grand Lord, and the Knights of Illyria, we go to war tonight," the High Lord shouted back as a squire strapped a black breastplate, with a growling dragon on it, to his master's chest
One by one, men, robed in black, with the symbol of a grey dragon on their tunics, drew their swords and rushed out of the palace
towards the city.
"Their heading for the Northern Gate!" one of the guards shouted as he raised his great axe.
"For Illyr, for magic, and for Garheim!" Lord Soren screamed, as he followed his men, charging toward the gate.
The soldiers of Illyr held of the invaders for almost three hours, but then they saw a sight that made them cringe with fear.
"My lord, they have five Mountain Trolls of the south." the Grand Lord shouted over the clatter of fighting soldiers.
"Fall back men, fall back!" Lord Soren commanded as his men started running towards the gate.
"Follow them, and leave no one alive, and bring that magic lover's head!" The King of Rowia ordered as his men rushed after the defenders.
As the enemy troops broke through the gates and into the city, Lord Soren raised his Battle axe and charged a horde of soldiers that were rushing towards him.
One after the other the soldiers fell to the ground at the feet of their enemies. Knowing that the surrender of his great Kingdom and the end of his life were drawing near he called to his adviser and commander, the Grand Lord of the Knights of Illyria.
"Take your men, and what's left of the Mages, and flee into the Grey Tunnels underneath the palace, do not look, but make your way to the Fortress of Lylan, there and only there will the Mages be safe."
"But my Lord..." the Grand Lord started to protest, but Lord Soren stopped him.
"My end has come dear friend. I have served Illyr and the Jarl well. Now make haste!"
The Grand Lord took one last look at his king, and followed his men and the Mages toward the Grey Tunnels.
In the distance he saw Lord Soren give a loud shout.
"Fight men, for the fate of Illyr lies with us. Onward!"
Then he watched as Lord Soren was struck down by his own King. The Grand Lord gave one last scream, then all went dark.
