LCC build, score page and interactive map
Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
I have now updated the map with small dots where the builds are.

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
Neat...just one question, where are the scores generated from?

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
You have to "create new player" for yourself and then enter your own builds and points.
Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
I have added all my builds to the map, and it is awesome.
May it possible to show only the builds of one player at the map ? So that you can see his way trough Roawia ?
Thanks for making this great scoreboard !

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
The page was first build to keep track of your personal score / builds. They are not generated, you have to enter each build yourself, and enter how many entry/winner points you gained from that build.Mattiusxavier wrote:Neat...just one question, where are the scores generated from?
You can do that by:
1. go to http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/
2. Click create new LCC player
3. Enter player information.
4. Find your player in the list and click it.
5. Click add build.
6. Enter build information. How to find image url is described ealier in this topic.
Besides a score a build now have a ranking. This ranking comes from a fight system that were added later. The ranking scoreboard is here: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/scoreboard.php
It should show the best LCC builds according to the fight system: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/fight.php
The last thing I added is the map. When you enter a build you have the option to enter the location of that build, and if you do, it will be shown on the map: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/map.php
You can also edit a build and add the location later. There is a small tool to help find the location of a build: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/locationSelector.html
I hope that helps.

Re: LCC build and score page
Hmm... I'm having trouble doing this with the new Flickr set up...Bentoft wrote:I can see some of you have problems finding the image url, so here is a short guide to find the url from a flickr image:
1. click the image to get to the black framed big picture.
2. click "view all sizes" in the upper right corner.
3. right click the image and select "Copy Image URL" or "Copy Image Location" or something like that.
Now you got the image url in the clipboard, and you can test it by
1. paste in the browser address bar.
2. check that you image appears without anything else than the picture.

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
I have added a little more info to the map: builder / ranking and the image is now a link.
I have also made it possible to view a specific players build on the map (as requested by Disco86). Click the player from the main page and click view builds on map.
There are now 95 builds on the map - go take a look, and add your own: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/map.php

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
I added almost all my builds to the map yesterday but it doesn´t show them. I edited the image and added the coordinates!
"Edit" Ok now when I opened a moc for edit, it doesn´t show any coordinates, so it seems I did something wrong. Gonna try adding them again

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
I have updated the Best LCC build scoreboard and the Player scoreboard with more info. Go check it out.
Fx. it is now possible to see the Mark has 5 build in the top 15.
Also remember to go rank the builds, to give new build a change to gain better rankings.

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
What should I make next? I have two plans:
1. A character section where players can add their character with an image, name, description and map location. There could also be a character fight system with scoreboard.
2. Custom submaps - to make it possible to add your builds to others maps. Like city maps, smaller area maps or faction maps.
3. Other ideas?
What do you think I should make?

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
Functionality-wise I think the system has all that is needed for the moment...
Maybe you could invest some time in workflow maintenance instead of adding new features... maybe replace the "password-entry on edit" with a simple login system (that's literally 10 lines of PHP and a simple HTML form)
Also, maybe it is just me, but with modern screen sizes / connection speeds I see no real reason to paginate the entries at 15 (if at all)

Re: LCC build, score page and interactive map
Maybe I could let the player define a sequence of the builds, and add a story field. Then I could display the story in a nice way. I will think about that.Rifiröfi wrote: Hi Bentoft,
this could work fine, but then we need a way to display the MOCs in a chronological order ==> user needs to be able to define the order somehow.
As far as I understand the MOCs are sorted by their rank/awesomness (how do you compute it BTW?).
Cheers
Adam
They are sorted by their rank from the best build fight system: http://bentoft.dk/lego/LCC/scores/fight.php
The site was introduced as a help to keep track of your personal points, and it is totally optional. Then it has been expanded with a fight system and a mapping feature.ForestFriend wrote:Hi Bentoft. [From land of Lego ] Checked out that list and it seems very short of the number of members who have completed LCC builds [as listed in Factional Member Lists] but also, free builds etc. Maybe the list doesn't include free builds or isn't up to date ? It looks interesting though .
Where is this list normally located in LCC ?

I don't quite understand how to get my builds on the map but it is a cool idea!
