Battles and Heroes, a new battle strategy game on cuusoo

Post by fish80 »

Hello fellow lego gamers,

you may be aware of a website called "Lego Cuusoo", where anybody can submit their Lego project and, if it reaches 10,000 supporters, it will become and official Lego set. I developed a project "Battles & Heroes", a strategy turn-based game (at the moment it is in a fantasy theme, but can also be played with more historical units) which is fully played with Lego. The game is a mixture of building the battle scenario, choosing the units and then a strategy battle using also dices. I will also publish very simple rules which can be played but 6/7 years old kids, and there are more complex ones for adults.

link is: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/45859

If you like the project it would be great if you could support this idea, it is free and takes 1 min to create a profile on Cuusoo, and you can check out other cool projects too. I have been checking out cuusoo a bit and personally I find frustrating that some very cool castle/fantasy projects do not have many supporters while it looks like space-related ideas have a much more stronger base and reach 10,000 almost easily...

In fact, I haven't seen one single fantasy or castle project reach 10,000 (or even 5,000!) and that's quite sad and should change. :(

Please if you have time support this project and/or other castle projects, and me know what you think, if you have suggestion for the game itself also. I am very open to ideas/suggestions.

Thank you very much and fun playing to everybody! :)

Charlie

Supported.

I saw a legend of zelda project reach 10,000 once and get rejected because of new molds. Then it reached 10,000 again and its sortof in limbo right now...

Cool idea; my friend's brother-in-law made a board game with Risk pieces that was really fun, but he never got it sponsored.

Yeah, I've been a fan of the Zelda sets on Cuusoo for a while and Lego still hasn't made them.

Yes, you are right, somehow I considered Zelda more a game-related project than a pure fantasy one, but it is probably my personal bias...

... there are some cool projects like the Argonauth or the Nazgul on the fell beast which have less than 1000... :(

Anyway, thanks for your support! Hopefully we will have a first fantasy/castle lego cuusoo soon! :-) If you have any tip on how to advertise my project please let me know. Thanks!

hey could you give me the link to the support thing and then also does your build have to be a huge one or can it be medium and does it have to be your own theme or can it be based of the existing themes such as LOTR

Hey Luke, the link to my project is : http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/45859, you then have to click "support" on the right of the screen and the create a profile (or log-in through facebook). If you want to create your own project, after you create your profile you can create a project, it does not have to be big, actually i think they would prefer relatively smaller projects, and can be inspired by any theme you want, also existing ones. Let me know if you need any more info, good luck! ;-)

I really like the fact that you are able to use existing themes, such as (but not limited to) LOTR, Hobbit, etc. This makes the playability factor much high IMO. Gladly supported :)

Just get it up as many places as you can... Eurobricks maybe, youtube, make a personal blog for it on a free site such as angelfire or weebly... Ask other people to blog it... Just try to let everyone know about it... And tag it with any related stuff too so people just browsing will see it. After one "fantasy" success (zelda) perhaps it will be easier for other things to follow up... I dont know. Another thing is that on cuusoo things get a lot of traffic, but not a high ratio of supporters. For instance, something with 800 views will likely only have 30 supporters. I dont know why that is, but... Kindof sad :? There is some great stuff there that I hope will eventually make ten thousand.

Perhaps we can make a thread as a list of members current cuusoo projects if we get a few more up? (Sometime, once its completed, I will be putting up a set representing vikings 2.0, maybe a couple lotr/hobbit sets too) obviously its no good making a list for just one item... but maybe then we would get a bit more traffic for them here on the forums. Just throwing out ideas... Good luck.

Man, I love the idea of roleplaying/rpg-type games mixed with Lego building! I'll totally help support this! I have a few ideas for factions and stories... :)

Wow thanks guys for your support, in particular Ferretclaw for your great suggestions! I am not a big IT guy so all this help is very much appreciated! :-)

Great dude, thanks! I agree, I think lego has such a big potential for this sort of games, it is so customizable a much more flexible than games such as Warhammer... Make sure to comment on the Cuusoo website with your suggestions/factions/stories, so also other people will see it. Thanks :)

i think because a lot of people just browse the projects and cannot be bothered to register and vote unfortunately

That would be great, I am new to the forum so I guess it is up to one of the big admin guys to decide this. :)

Actually, any member can create a new thread... Perhaps it would be best to clear it with an admin to be safe, but mostly they just want us to check in about things like jambalayas, set drafts, ect.
