Classic-Castle Roleplay Planning: April 2005

LEGO gaming, including group role playing games

Its a matter of consistency, Sir Drake. If one post is going, they're all going.

Furthermore, as a note on the Dictionary: the Dictionary is intended to be a reference to things ALREADY mentioned in the Roleplay. This has largely been forgotten in recent months, with entries that attempt to solidify things without actually writing it into the Roleplay. An excellent example of this are the many recent posts concerning the military ranks of various nations.

While these are a useful resource, if the ranks have not been used in the Roleplay yet, then they are NOT official, even if it's me, Micah, or Nathan who is entering it.

That is why, in the Dragon Master and Cavalier ranks that Nathan and I posted, we made note of which ranks have actually been RPed.

If people WANT to use any un-official resources in the Dictionary, then they are by all means welcome to do so, and by doing so, they are making those unofficial decisions official.

The only things that are AUTOMATICALLY an official part of the Roleplay are the Map, the Character bios, and the Roleplay itself. The Dictionary is intended to be a resource to help Roleplayers have a place to look up things mentioned in the Roleplay- not a place to influence the Roleplay from.

Also, with respect to Daimyo "making" the Dark Forest, that is somewhat correct. Daimyo is the main person to have posted concerning the Dark Forest. As a result, most of what is known about the Dark Forest, and the way that they are perceived by the Roleplay reader, are mainly the result of what he has written. To say, however, that Daimyo "owns" the Dark Forest, as you seem to be implying, is totally invalid.

This would be like saying that Nathan "owns" the Dragon Masters, because he has Lord Void and was the first one to post there. What if, when The Green Knight started posting about Targon and Bargon, his vision of the Dragon Masters hadn't jived with that of Nathan's?

In short, although some factions are more strongly influenced by some Roleplayers than the rest, NO faction "belongs" to any one Roleplayer.

On a more frivolous topic than the weighty matters of late, whilst I was making a new scene for the Creations and Illustrations thread, I decided to make use of the opportunity, and get pics of some characters of mine.

First, the long-neglected Jayko:

Technically, I still don't own him, but I finally got around to borrowing my brother's, so I do have a picture of him, if naught else.

Next, the new, mostly-mysterious, Captain Oris Del Grakken:

A boring char to look at perhaps, but no one ever said they all had to be beauties...

And finally, a new look at Elbadar. Now that he's a Lord Marshal in the Dametreosian Forces of the Sorceror-king, I think he merits a different (and cooler 8) ) uniform than he did as a corporal in Lord Void's forces:

There you have it gentlemen.

(Hmm... maybe it's past time we needed a lady RPer...)

Well, after a extremely long time, I have finally gotten around to posting my two main characters. The whole Royal Knight story line was just a set up for these guys and a test to see how the RP worked. That, coupled with the MNPC rule, has moved me to get on with the real storyline.

So here they are.

Name: Aiden Kannton
Age: 27
Background: At age 15 he left home (not known whether he ran away, parents were killed or something else) and started adventuring. After six on his own Kae-Os joined him. His companion stated that he was only going to be with him for a "short" while. After six years, they are still together.
Faction: None
Place In Hierarchy: Whatever he wants to be
Equipment: Two rapier
Other: Aiden has traveled to many different lands and oceans. Most of them were accessed through magic. His home land is not known.
Looks: Average height, dark brown hair, clean shaven face, ladies would call him "gorgeous"
Class: Main Character
Status: Alive

Name: Kae-Os
Age: not publicly known, at least three centurys.
Background: A wanderer, no longer accepted by his people because of a crime he did not commit, Kae-Os has traveled to many different lands, trying to avoid the people sent after him. He recently joined up with Aiden Kannton and together they have had several adventures.
Faction: None
Place In Hierarchy: Outlaw
Equipment: Black Katana, black spear, silver body armour and dragon helm.
Other: Kae-Os is an Elf. :P
Looks: Tall (over six and a half feet), dark silver hair, calm demeaner.
Class: Main Character
Status: Alive
I build, therefore I am.

Brave words coming from a guy called grapenuts.
