Brick Lords Type Game

Post by jamitjames »

Hey all,

I'm planning to start making a game, again, that will be sorta like Brick Lords. However, I would like your ideas for a story line. I may do it based in Middle-earth. If that appeals to you please say so. If not please give another idea, thanks.

No ideas at all? Or is every one gone?

I miss Brikwars alot... That was a great game I remember that I spent hours trying to get into the top ten.

Good times...

I have a idea, sort of. How about one of those dealies where you're trying to gather these keys (or jewels, or armour, or severed heads  ) from all these different dungeons.

There would be like water type monsters in the "blue" dungeon. Fire monsters in the "red" dungeon. Um, evil soldiers in the "castle type" dungeon.

That any help?

Both, in my case.

Don't necessarily expect too many ideas from this group. As a rule, I think we tend to be more "authors" than gamers. I, at least, haven't a single idea that would help you.

Well then please at least say if you like the Middle-earth idea.

TheOrk: After I find the meaning of "dealies" I can think about your idea more.

Well, if you're asking, then I say that you ought to strike out on your own. Going with a fantasy, LotR-similar, style is fine, but there's no need to go with a direct Tolkien copy. It lacks imagination for one thing, and you run up into a lot more production issues. Customs are great, no denying that, but there's no need to deck out whole armies of white horses on green fields (the Rohirric emblem) when you could have just used mounted Black Falcons... or something like that.

Just to let you all know, I'm planning on putting the early parts of the game up in a month. And I will "strike out on your (my) own".
