LEGO RenFaire Question

I've got a question. Our train club is planning on having a RenFaire section on an upcoming layout. I was going to build some tudor style buildings for it, but the other members say they are out of period. They say RenFaire is "Elizabethan" style, not tudor style. Is this correct? Would tudor buldings like Dan's Blacksmith Shop be out of period?

Disclaimer: I am in no way an expert on RenFaire topics, or architecture. However. my two cents are as follows:

The Elizabethian period gets it's name from Queen Elizabeth I, 1533-1603. She was the fifth and last ruler in the Tudor dynasty, which I would assume gives it's name to the Tudor style of architecture. Therefore, as far as I can tell, they are one and the same!

Side note: I don't think that RenFaires are that picky as to what time period you dress. Only the snootiest of snobs would keep you out if you were in 12th century garb, vice 15th.

From what I know of Renaissance architecture is that Elizabethan is one of the two English variations of European Renaissance architecture, the other being Jacobian. And, tudor style was invented in England during the Renaissance.

My question is: does it matter? I mean, it's your display, as long as it looks medieval, that's the only thing that matters, right? Is this display going to be at an actual Renfaire? If not, I say just do what works and is easy.

That is kind of what my thoughts were. I didn't think it would matter that much to the audience at a train show. We are mainly doing this to get some castle models on the layout. But, a couple of the guys were very persistant about no tudor buildings.
