Woot!

My mom finally gave in! Chris just signed me up, so I will be comin' on up to the Emerald City come October! See you guys there!

Oh, and I'm bringing a small-ish castle chunk, that will be made Base8 with some help from my brother. It will be about 88x72 studs, when it gets down to Base8 standard.

Man, the castle layout is going to kick the crap out of everything else.

RR-that rocks! This may just be the best round tower I have seen. The 1x1 rounds in the gap between the straight panels is an incredible solution. This is the "main" module? I can't wait to see this in person.

Rock, that is awesome. I can't wait to see it in person. Can you PM me the dimensions (in studs) and tell how far the road is set back from the corner, so that I can line it up with other people's stuff?

Thanks,
Josh

Josh, do you want others to send you dimensions now, too?

That would be great! I'm still getting organized here or that might have occurred to me. Thanks, Caylin!

Hey Josh, I know we've been talking with more details, but I'm shooting for either a 2x3 BP or hopefully/more-optimistically a 3x4! I'll keep in touch as I see if reality coincides with that.

I'll also probably have more unused baseplates and could theoretically fill in some much flatter areas with those and some random buildings I still have together, if we need more area or more town/village stuff too.

Hey All,

I just got our table layout finalized. Castle's floor space will be 40ftx 25ft. Our tables will form a rectangle 40 ft long, with an area inside for us to hang out and keep our supplies. The main cooperative layout will take up one of the forty foot sides, with stand alone MOCs and "other historical" using the rest of the space. We should have more than enough room.

If you are bringing a section for the main layout, I need a PM telling me the dimensions, locations of rivers, roads, etc. so that I can get it tied in with the rest of the layout. We are using the Base8 standard for the edges of all the sections.

Chris, that would be great. We are definitely going to need some filler. Just where exactly, I don't know yet.

Well, my mom said I can't go.
She used the normal reasons: in the school year, halfway across the country, *and* you can always go to the next one.
You can't convince some people, I suppose...

See you next year then, I hope.

Yeah, moms are like that, but $ is a big one, and it does tend to add up at these things, so...

Sad to hear you won't be able to make it though.

Hey Josh/All,

Also, for your planning purposes, due to the amount of brick to raise my section up (you know from our chats) I won't be able to provide the understructure for most of my extra BP's though for Base8. Just a thought, so if someone might be able to cover that part.

What I usually do for Base8 filler is bring the edge up to BPB height by making the filler edges one brick high. Then you don't need to have any understructure.

Just a thought,

Just a reminder that the pre-registration price for BrickCon goes up from $40 to $50 next week, on August 4th. (That's $10 more to spend at the Brick Bazaar or LEGO Store!)

The price will go up again in early September, at which point it will also become more difficult to get things like your engraved brick badge in time for the con.

If you're still thinking about coming or just haven't registered yet, now's the time do so.

The Lange clan is now fully registered and locked and loaded and any and all other suitable cliches. Josh I just PM'ed you on what I intend to bring at this point. In addition, my daughter (Kairyai here in the forums) will most likely bring something. We will finalize that shortly.

We will have a truly outstanding turn out this year. I am really looking foreward to this!
