Reposting what I said on flickr:
Is the battle part for a battle you're doing or the combined battle? 48 studs doesn't seem much, I think we should have a tables-wide section open for the battle if we're gonna top brickfest 07. What do you think of making that section the CCC? I'm bringing tan baseplate roads just like the ones you already have in place, so we could expand your road network there and fill it with buildings...

Also, any of this going to be BPB Josh?
Also do you have someone already who's going to match up to your right-side edge?

All good questions, here are my answers:

1. The battle I referred to in my notes is a side/offshoot of the main battle. I assumed the "real" battle would be adjacent to my section and spill over everywhere. I doubt that the battle will be bigger than Brickfest 07, as we don't have as much room, but it should be big. Personally, I have 8 32x32 green baseplates that I'm not using and I was going to contribute those to the battle. We will need as much "bare" land as we can get.

2. I don't want to make that section into a CCC. I have other plans at this time. I haven't heard of any doing any CCC this year. That doesn't mean no one is, I just haven't been told about it. If there is going to be a CCC section, maybe we can put in the battle area and have it be an overrun town. Just a thought.

3. Regarding your roads, I was planning on yours attaching onto my rightmost road.

4. No one is connecting onto my entire right side. In fact, I have only heard from a handful of people at all. Ted is bringing 4 32x32 river baseplates, in base8, which will connect to my river. My entire right side will be able to match BPB. Is that something we want to do? Or should we make it normal baseplates to save on brick? Either way is fine with me.

I will have some spare 32x32 baseplates that can be battled upon. I don't know what sort of structures I will have time to finish, but I hope to have something to offer.

Ok cool. I would like there to be a CCC as that is mostly what I have been building for, even if it is just a small village without walls. I was kinda going for peaceful / civilian with what I have so far so how about having it on the other side of the battle. I will try and make as many road pieces as I can so that the two areas can be connected, hopefully Tom will bring his as well, and I'd think between you Tom and Bradley we'll have enough baseplates to cover a good swath of tablespace. And I'd say definitely do BPB as that's what I'm building to, I'd love to see an entire layout in BPB. I may be able to bring all my foamcore and such since a friend of mine is driving up, just he's leaving from Chico so I gotta figure out a way to get it to him by the end of the month.

You guys with kids oughta do a craft day and have them make a bunch of those, just get em a couple sheets of foamcore and some glue and scissors, 2 plates and a tile for thickness reference, and have them cut 8-10inch squares and glue em together. They proved super useful last year and I was able to make 15+ with just 2 sheets, if everybody did this we could cover a great deal of tablespace.

I'm assuming tables apart from your behemoth will account for 6 baseplates wide of display like in previous years?

Brendan. You're a genius.

I'll volunteer to make up some of these. I'll do standard 32x32 baseplates to start.

Great! The target thickness is 3/8ths of an inch, I was able to find them in 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch so I picked up a sheet of each. It helps to take a brick with you so you can line em up in the store to compare. Also I made (actually Alys made, she did most of these while I was setting up last year <3 ) mine about 7-8 inches wide to get more out of the same sheet which worked just as fine as if they were 10".

I haven't heard from Rocko. He missed BrickFest...Is Alys coming this year?

Jim, we always run out of green baseplates, so any you'd like to contribute is MUCH appreciated. :-)

Sweet... I think I have a few I haven't even unwrapped yet. A moderate army and baseplates will be for sure coming. Just need to get cracking on a few other things to bring.

Talked to Rocko - he can't make it. Alys will be attending as usual. :)

Josh, forgot to mention, I'm bringing at least one MOC that will need power - will this be a problem?

I will be bringing all of my baseplates as always and my figs. I will not be able to build much of anything as I just got a new job and September is the busiest time of the year.

For the battle area I propose that we just do baseplate thickness. and Would like to se if anyone has extra trees and the ability to do some rock "obsticles" to break up the normal battle field.

No problem with the power. I will be needing it as well, I think. We had a giant power strip last year. I'm sure we will be able to get one again.

I've also just heard from Richard and Co. They will not be attending this year, unfortunately.

Baseplates and figs are great. I will be able to bring some stuff to break up the field. Whatever is left over from my layout.

Oh yeah, I guess I should mention what I'm up to.

If I could remember that is.

It's alright though, I told Josh in chat, so he knows where I will be and stuff. I'm sure a guy like him won't have forgetten my dimensions. 144x112 is I think what it was. It's close anyway.....hopefully Josh remembers.....I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually...not to worry. If I recall correctly though, I will be above Brendan's stuff. Maybe? Anyhow, whoever I connect to, I have a couple roads that I might want to chat about to figure the right connection.

To further update my plans, here is basic map of what I have, so far as it goes.

Each square is 8 studs across.

So is anyone else bringing CCC houses? I'm bringing an 80x96 stud village square with attaching roads and a bunch of market stalls but I only have 3 buildings to go on it. I'm really hoping that at least one person is bringing at least the buildings from a 10193 Med. Market Village (or is planning to buy one friday night) since, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I've rebuilt mine so that they can be combined with someone's to make them double-sized.

Speaking of, has anybody talked to Tom?
