Castle at BrickCon 2010

Hey All,

It's that time again. I will be coordinating the Castle section at BrickCon. This is where we talk, plan, gripe, moan and whine. So, who's planning on being there and what are you bringing?

As always, there will be a cooperative display. I am bringing a large ocean/sea with coastline and islands of various sorts. If you have boats, ships, or islands of your own they are welcome on my "water". I've heard from a few other people, but I will let them spill the beans on their stuff for the co-op layout.

I am also setting aside room for a chess section. I've been building a variety of chess sets and, since chess is a castley game, I encourage anyone else to bring something Chess-related. It would also be cool to have each of the official Lego chess sets on display. I'll be checking around in Sealug to see if we have them all on hand locally.

Thoughts?
Josh

Would you have to be there every day of the event? I would love to come, but I would have to talk with my parents...It's a 2-3 hour drive, but I have relatives that are close. I could stay with them, assuming they are fine with it.

I'll be there again. But unfortunately the 17-hour flight to Seattle doesn't permit me to bring much in the way of MOCs.
Like last year I'll provide any assistance I can to help people set up their stuff, but I won't be bringing any Castle stuff of my own.
Sorry guys, but I'm bringing Technic and Space only again (I'm sorry, I only have so much suitcase-space)

Though this might be a supremely obvious reply, I'll be at BrickCon. It's too early now, but come August I'll post the thread for the Photoshoot and CC Dinner Meetup.

Rogue, you can bring whatever you'd like--and we'll fit it in. :) You don't have to be there every day of the event, but it's certainly fun to be there. If you're under 18, though, I believe you have to have a parent register with you. Registration information is still forthcoming.

And I don't have a damned clue what I'm brining. My brick has been in storage since February...so we'll see.

Is the CC meet up dinner on again? Because well...I'll have to figure a way to hide in that picture again too. You know I'm there. Just like AC, I'm limited on what I can bring. If you want, I can bring my 700+ ants again. Or I might try and build something and hope they don't totally kill it in my luggage.

Traveling 17 hours to come to BC and hang out is a special treat all on it's own. You will, I think, have to wear the minifig knight outfit again however.

See you there!

Nah this year it's not that bad really, only 1332 miles to BrickCon for me, since I'll be in Denver, CO during all of september.

Well, it depends. If you are only coming for the public events, you can't display anything. But you can attend the convention for one day AND display stuff on that day. Does that makes sense? If not, PM me and I'll explain in more detail. Like Caylin said, if you are a minor, you have to have a parent register to attend as well, if you are attending the Con before and/or after public hours.

Finally a part of this forum for the planning of this display. I'm sure I'll have lots of Forestman-y stuff to bring maybe a treeman or something too. Its a bit early to tell exactly what I'll be bringing but I'm getting super stoked for con. I also may or may not be collaborating with another Canadian member of this forum. :eyebrows:

Hey Aaron,

Foresty stuff is always welcome. Your big tree was a highlight of the layout last year, especially when you let it fall.

No way! :D Can't wait to see what you may or may not come up with.

Not sure if I'll be able too, but if I have the money and the time I'm definitely interesting in going - I don't have a huge collection, so I won't be able to do anything big, but I can probably build a small keep/market to bring.
