Sorry it took me a while to get back. Notification isn't working right for me.
For the market stalls if she just wants to build on a 6x8 studded plate of any color that would be great, and try not to overlap the edges except the 8 studs along the front of her stall so that they can be packed in shoulder-to-shoulder or back-to-back. Most of the market stalls will be 6-7 bricks high but she can build a bit taller if she likes If the size is too constraining for her she can do a double-wide if she likes, 6 studs deep with 16 along the front. But try to give me some advance warning if she wants to do that so I can figure out where everything is supposed to fit.

I am assuming Base8 is being used, so I shall use that in my 48x48 villageish thing that I am constucting. Hopefully it will actually be done in time.

Just a heads up for everyone, I could use some help building the trophies for Castle. If anyone is interested in lending a hand, send me a Private Message.

Thanks!

I'm planning something big, maybe too big. My layout is currently 90" x 40", and my only worry is getting it finished in time. It'll take some floor space too, just parting a 30" section between tables and I've got plywood to span the rest of it. Once it's in a mostly-built state I'll get pictures up. I really want it to fit in with other displays, so I'll be trying to make it modular enough.

Oh, trophies? I should think about that... what are the categories? *Starts looking around elsewhere*

That isn't too big, it will fit on the tables. Actually the parting of the tables is the most problematic. We aren't allowed to move tables outside of our alloted space. But we probably can turn some tables and have them take of some space inside the table island. We'll work it out.

Can't wait to see your pics, sounds impressive!

Josh

PS. If you are interested in building a trophy, just PM me. I'll give a heads up on the categories and such.

Hi Josh,

I am planning on attending brickcon for the first time this year and would love to get your input on what to bring. My original plan was to have my Kingdoms Castle Facing the dragon knight fortress I am building with a Dragon Moc I just finished at the top of the tower and a battle diarama in the middle. I dont want to take up too much space so can just bring the Dragon fortress if space is an issue. I brought the inner keep of the kingdoms castle and think Caylin saw it at the July SeaLug Meeting, I also brought the completed Dragonknight Dragon to the Sealug meeting this past Saturday (will be posting pics this next week). Will you be at the September Meeting?

Thanks,

David

I won't be at any meetings before BrickCon, due to work issues. But you are more than welcome to bring whatever you can. We have plenty of room and Space is not an issue. After all, Space has its own area..... ;) Sorry, couldn't resist that.

Seriously though, we have lots of table space. Are you planning on your MOCs being stand-alone or as part of the collaborative effort? Either is fine, I just need to know. I will also need to know the overall dimensions. If it is stand-alone, I need the dimensions in inches, but if it supposed to be in the collaborative layout, I need the dimensions in studs.

Looking forward to meeting you in person!

Sounds great! I will work on getting the dimensions. As far as collaborative, I would love to do that, i am just not sure how well it would fit in with what is planned. What is the best forum to discuss that?

Thanks again for organizing all this, I am sure its quite a bit of work to organize everything!

Here is good. Several of us hang out in Chat every evening, feel free to join us if you want. You can PM people. But keep in mind that your base if you want it to fit in with the collaboration, the baseplate has to be baseplate plus one brick.

Here is fine or wherever. To clarify what Bluesecrets said, the edges of your layout have to be the height of one baseplate plus one brick, in order to fit with the rest of the collaborative layout. You can do whatever you want as far as height elsewhere. So you have two castles with a battle in between?

Josh[/quote]

That was the original plan, but with the way work has been going I will most likely have two separate castles and the dragon lol. The battle between might be wishful thinking on my part. My biggest issue I think is the height. I built everything on standard plates and I am about 4k+ bricks on the dragon knight fortress lol. If I can get the fortress done by end of Aug, the batle scene might be doable. I guess I just need to blast through some good anime in the background and get to work

I will take some pics and get some dimensions and can pop into chat as well.

Thanks again!

Sounds good! If the edge requirement is a problem, it is fine to have it in the Castle stand-alone section as well.

Fraslund, that was your dragon at the meeting? It was BA. I forgot what your name is. I'm Jordan. I was the one with the black motorcycle gear and the helmet with the red flames on it, if you happened to notice when I came in/left. Can't wait to see pics of the rest of your stuff!

Josh, I think I'm going to be able to get my castle finished in time. I only have to do some minor tweaking to make it work for B8, but I do have a small creek on the corner and one going through the castle which I'm not sure will work with everyone else because they're trans dark blue (pics on my Flickr). I'll PM you with the dimensions if I ever remember to get them one of these evenings.

I am going to be in Alaska doing some moose hunting during next SEALUG meeting, so I'll look forward to seeing everyone at the Con!

Is anyone doing any collaborative hill/cliff building? I was planning on building some additional cliff face beyond what I had at BrickFest 2009.
